Annual Christmas Ward Reading (2019)
The episode begins with Dr. Monica Quartermaine carrying on the tradition of reading a Christmas story to the children at General Hospital. Finn is feeling very cynical this holiday season and after the reading, he rushes to leave with his then-fiancรฉe Anna Devane and daughter, Violet. However, Anna and Violet both want to stay longer, so Finn reluctantly agrees. Maxie Jones approaches them with Peter August and her son James to invite them over to her parent's, Mac and Felicia Scorpio's house for dinner, but Finn declines.
As Anna is trying to convince Finn to go to dinner, Robert Scorpio pops over and ribs on Finn calling him "a real scrooge." Meanwhile Tracy Quartermaine is also trying to round up the Quartermaines for the night, having had her fill of holiday joy. Anna wants Finn to embrace the Christmas season, but he just wants to go home. His plans of leaving are interrupted when Curtis Ashford arrives and announces that they are all stranded at the hospital because of a snow storm. Michael Corinthos finds a second book for Monica to read to the children to pass the time, A Christmas Carol.
As Monica begins to read the story, both Tracy and Finn identify with the "Scrooge" character and joke about their cynical natures. As the story-telling continues, the story itself begins to play out onscreen. Finn, as Ebenezer Scrooge, is in his office handing off more work to Bob Cratchit (Roger Howarth). Scrooge's nephew Fred (Wes Ramsey) arrives to invite Scrooge to Christmas dinner, but Scrooge only mocks him and sends him away. A charitable man, Mr. Porter (Donnell Turner) also stops by looking for donations, but Scrooge sends him away. At the end of the workday, Scrooge allows Cratchit to have Christmas Day off, but says he must be back for work early the next day.
Later that night at Scrooge's home, he finishes dinner and his servant, Mrs. Dilber (Leslie Charleson) clears away the tray. He drifts off to sleep, but is awaken by the ghost of his old business partner, Marley (Jane Elliot). Marley warns Scrooge that he will soon be visited by three spirits. She tells him that these three spirits are the only way to escape the same fate that she now has - carrying around chains representing all of her misdeeds in the afterlife.
Back at the hospital, Anna discusses Finn's negative attitude with his brother, Harrison Chase. Violet starts to get a little scared as she listens to the story, so Finn sits on the floor with her and begins to listen as Monica continues to read the story.

The Ghosts of Christmas (2019)
Back in the Christmas Carol tale, Scrooge is first visited by The Ghost of Christmas Past (Eden McCoy). She takes him into the past to a party that is being hosted by his old mentor, Fezziwig (Wally Kurth). Scrooge sees a younger version of himself (Josh Swickard) conversing with his old friend, Dick Wilkins (Chad Duell). Young Scrooge is not interested in the party, but Dick on the other hand, was ready to enjoy all of the night's festivities. Scrooge watches as his younger self is approached by his former fiancรฉe, Belle (Katelyn MacMullen). She kisses him on the cheek, but young Scrooge rebuffs her when she tries to get him to dance and enjoy the party. Taking the hint, Belle leaves to dance with Dick instead. Fezziwig warns Young Scrooge that he needs to begin to enjoy life or else it will pass him right by. Young Scrooge leaves the party for work and exasperated, Belle breaks off their engagement.
Scrooge is then given a quick glimpse of the future. Belle (Finola Hughes) and Dick (Tristan Rogers) are together and sadly discuss how Scrooge ended up all alone in life. The Ghost of Christmas Past returns Scrooge to his bedroom where he is next visited by The Ghost of Christmas Present (Kathleen Gati). Already shaken up, Scrooge is more receptive to what the spirit has to show him next. The Ghost of Christmas Present takes Scrooge to his nephew's home to see the Christmas dinner party that he had been invited to attend. Scrooge watches as the party attendees play charades and his nephew Fred does an impersonation of "cranky Scrooge." He is then taken to the home of his employee, Bob Cratchit, and is amazed at how they seem so happy with so little. The Cratchit Family raises a toast to Scrooge, grateful that he has helped to provide them with the little they did have.
Bob's son, Tiny Tim (Hudson West) is sick and breaks out into a coughing fit. Concerned, Scrooge asks The Ghost of Christmas Present if Tiny Tim will live. The Ghost of Christmas Present replies that he will, as long as the future does not change. Scrooge is returned to his bedroom where he is visited by the last spirit, The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (Maura West). This spirit from the future takes Scrooge to his own funeral. The only attendees are his nephew Fred and Fred's wife (Kirsten Storms). Meanwhile, Scrooge watches as Bob comes home from visiting his son, Tiny Tim's grave. Bob sadly embraces his wife (Rebecca Herbst) and older son (William Lipton). Shocked that Tiny Tim didn't make it, Scrooge says that this future must be changed. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come takes Scrooge back to his freshly dug grave and pushes him inside the hole.
Scrooge wakes up suddenly in his bed. He learns from Mrs. Dilber that Christmas is not over yet. He rushes out the door and runs to Fred's house to wish him a Merry Christmas. He apologizes to Fred and states that he wants to move forward as a family. Next, he finds Mr. Porter and arranges to send a charitable donation. Scrooge's final stop is to see the Cratchit Family. He wishes them a Merry Christmas, gives them a turkey for dinner and tells Bob that he will be doubling his salary. Tiny Tim invites Scrooge to stay and have dinner with the family.
Back at the hospital, Monica finishes reading the story and Curtis announces that all of the roads have cleared and the lockdown has been lifted. They could all go home now if they want. Tracy shocks her family when she suggests that they stay to help anyone who may not have a way home. Finn also shocks Anna when he tells her that he wants to attend the Scorpio family Christmas dinner party after all. Finn explains that this is his first Christmas as a father and now that he has seen the holiday through Violet's eyes, he is beginning to understand what Christmas is truly about. Finn then turns to Violet to tell her that he finally understands. Christmas is about more than giving presents, it's about joy, love and family.
Violet ends the episode with this iconic line from A Christmas Carol, "God bless us, everyone."
