A Night of Nostalgia was a special event for the ABC soap opera General Hospital, celebrating its 55th Anniversary on March 30, 2018. The episode featured numerous flashbacks.

This was contrasted by Mike Corbin's battle with Alzheimer's disease and how that most horrific of diseases robs the people we love of all their memories and relationships.
Storyline[]
The episode begins with Mike at Greystone Manor, looking at a picture of the Corinthos family while a voiceover from Sonny Corinthos states he has been thinking of the importance of memories. An invitation to the Metro Court Hotel is then seen open on the desk of each major Port Charles family home while recently widowed Maxie Jones is seen alone, depressed in her apartment. Back at the Corinthos home, Mike is greeted by Sonny, Dante Falconeri and Michael Corinthos, telling him to get dressed. Sonny surprises Mike by arranging the Metro Court Restaurant to resemble Luke's old club for one night, aiming to help Mike recall moments and people from his past. Dr. Kevin Collins believes that a night of nostalgia might be beneficial for Mike. Throughout the evening, Mike tends the bar while many individuals he has encountered ask him to make them a drink and engage in conversation.
The guests share various remembrances with one another: Kevin, Nurse Elizabeth Webber, Nurse Bobbie Spencer, and Dr. Monica Quartermaine discuss their first day at the hospital, recalling a flashback of Dr. Steve Hardy when he first met Nurse Audrey March there. Scott Baldwin and Bobbie reminisce, leading to a clip of Scotty and his father, Lee Baldwin. Bobbie even mentions to Scott that he must miss his old frenemy, Luke Spencer. Ned Quartermaine recalls his grandparents, Edward and Lila Quartermaine, featuring the original Edward played by David Lewis. Later, Monica has a flashback to one of her intense fights with Dr. Alan Quartermaine. Anna Devane remembers how she almost lost her daughter Dr. Robin Scorpio when she was just seven years old, leading to a touching flashback where Robin and Anna are reunited after the young girl's kidnapping.
Just then, in another flashback, Sonny recalls Stone Cates' death from AIDS and how he was there at the end. Jason Morgan and Carly Spencer share a moment where Jason remembers holding a young infant Michael for the first time. In another nod to the past, Felicia Jones and Bobbie remember the horrific night when B.J. Jones was rendered brain dead, and Maxie needed an urgent heart transplant, eventually receiving B.J.'s Heart. Maxie herself shows up later to the party, thanks to Bobbie.
Ned performs a song introduced by Olivia Quartermaine as "Eddie Maine." Later, Alexis Davis recalls waiting in Ned's hotel room for an intimate encounter, only to discover a camera crew accompanying him when he opened the door. The Nurses' Ball is mentioned, highlighting Lucy Coe's numerous outfit changes, and Kevin and Mac Scorpio reminisce about their past when they dressed in drag. Meanwhile, Sonny confides in Dante about his one regret, which is when he shot his son, accompanied by a flashback.
As the episode progresses, Monica and Jason share a poignant moment when he calls her "mom." Meanwhile, Sonny and Carly reflect on their enduring love despite the challenges they have faced. At the end of the evening, once alone, Sonny and Mike share a toast, with Mike expressing his pride in Sonny.
Needing a moment to himself, Sonny, with tears in his eyes, toasts to a remarkable night and to an even better tomorrow.
