Det. Alexander "Alex" Garcia is a fictional character in the ABC daytime dramas General Hospital and Port Charles.
He was played by George Alvarez on General Hospital from 1992 to 1994 and returned from 1995 to 1999. Alvarez also played Garcia on Port Charles from 1997 to 1999. He was recast with Eddie Velez on General Hospital later in 1999 who returned in 2000. Velez also appeared as Garcia on Port Charles from 1999 to 2001.
Storylines[]
In 1998, Detective Garcia arrested Helena for Katherine Bell's murder while Helena was at dinner at Wyndemere with Nikolas, Alexis, and Stefan. Helena was innocent and the charges were dropped when Katherine revealed she was actually alive.
