Elizabeth "Betsy" Quartermaine is a fictional character from the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.
She was played by Peggy Walton-Walker in 1987.
Storylines[]
Herbert Quartermaine was only mentioned for years as Edwards's cousin who wanted the Quartermaine inheritance after Edward's grandfather Edgar died. Herbert faked his death for a week but was killed by his daughter-in-law Betsy a week later so her husband Quentin could get his father's inheritance. Otherwise Quentin's gambling debts would leave him ruined.
Betsy attempted to blame Herbert's personal assistant Autumn Clayton for his murder and later tried to kill Autumn to cover up her crime. Betsy was set up and arrested for attempted murder. She confessed everything and went to prison for Herbert's murder and later died.
