Bruce is a fictional character in the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.
He was played by Patrick Robert Smith in 2015.
Storylines
On March 27, 2015, Duke and his bodyguard Bruce talk with Julian at the Metro Court Restaurant. Olivia says they are causing a scene and tells them to leave.
Later Duke and Bruce meet with Shawn and Sonny at his gym. After Shawn and Sonny leave, Bruce asks Duke why he didn’t tell Sonny that Duke’s employee Jordan was wearing a wire during their meeting earlier.
Duke says Jordan is presumably working for Anna and is involved with Shawn. Bruce comments that Duke needs to make sure Jordan can’t testify. Duke agrees that they will need to deal with Jordan later.
On April 22, Duke tells Bruce to sit down as he is making Duke nervous. Bruce asks if Duke has made a decision about killing Jordan. Duke is hesitant because Jordan’s son T.J. and Shawn care for her. But since Duke is the head of the organization, it is his decision and he says Jordan must be taken care of.
As Duke was working for Sonny and brought a traitor, Jordan, into the organization, he feels that he needs to fix his mistake. He tells Bruce he wants the hit done today. Bruce will follow Jordan and wait for the perfect moment.
Duke says Bruce’s track record is impeccable and he wants the hit to look like it came from the Jeromes. Everyone knows Jordan worked for the Jeromes before she flipped on them so they are likely suspects if she is killed. Duke also doesn’t want Shawn and Anna to find out Jordan is undercover. Duke tells Bruce to let him know when the hit is done, then Bruce leaves.
On April 24, Bruce sees Anna and Jordan at the docks and shoots at Jordan. Anna sees Bruce and returns fire. No one is hit and later Duke is furious when he finds out Bruce could have shot his love, Anna.
On May 5 while at Jordan’s apartment, Bruce texts Duke for confirmation that the hit on Jordan is still on. Duke gives his approval and Bruce asks if there are any changes in plans. Duke says to proceed with the hit.
Duke changes his mind after a long discussion with Anna. He tries to let Bruce know the hit is now off but his call goes to voicemail. After leaving a second voicemail, Carlos comes up to Duke and says he has been trying to kill him for days but Bruce was always in the way. Duke is now alone and Carlos admits that Julian wants Duke dead. After a struggle for a gun, Duke is shot in the stomach and later dies at the hospital from blood loss.
Bruce ignores his missed calls which he assumes are from Duke, eager to be updated. Bruce calls Shawn with a fake shipment to check on in order to get Shawn to leave the apartment.
Once Shawn has left, Bruce sneaks into the apartment and fires three shots at the bed. He checks and discovers the bed is empty. Jordan comes out of the bathroom ready to shoot whoever just tried to killed her. She was surprised when she realized it was Bruce. He tried to explain himself but she killed him by shooting him twice in self-defense.
