In 1982, Luke Spencer and Robert Scorpio searched for Holly Sutton in Canada.

In January 2012, after Jason Morgan shoots Franco Baldwin at his Art Loft in Beechers Corners, Franco finds the Canadian hideout in Prince Edward County, Ontario to nurse himself back to health as it is a quiet and private place. He is revealed to be alive and back in Port Charles on May 29, 2013.

In November 2014, Franco and Nina Reeves go on the run with Ava Jerome's newborn baby who Nina stole after inducing Ava's labor. Franco takes them to the Canadian hideout where he tells Nina how he recovered there after being shot by Jason. She wants to call Silas Clay but Franco is against it. A woman named Zoe Mitchell knocks on the door and immediately recognizes Franco. Franco convinces her not to tell anyone he is there and passes off Nina and the baby as his wife and child. When Zoe leaves, Franco considers killing her.

Dante Falconeri gets Franco's location from Captain Hooper who helped Franco and Nina escape on a boat to Canada. Dante and two Mounties catch Franco as he is on the run outside of the hideout. Betsy Frank gives Silas, Kiki Jerome, Morgan Corinthos, and Ava the address of the hideout and they arrive at the building right as Dante caught Franco. He throws down the bag of flour he was pretending was the baby and is arrested. Silas runs inside when Franco admits Nina has the baby upstairs in the hideout. Silas convinces Nina to give him the baby and Morgan grabs Nina from behind. Silas hands the baby to Ava and Silas comforts Nina as Morgan and Ava leave with the baby. After a brief reunion outside with her daughter, Dante arrests Ava for the murder of Connie Falconeri.

On May 14, 2019, Laura Collins and Curtis Ashford visit the cabin of a nurse named April Tremblay in Toronto to ask about Ryan Chamberlain's whereabouts while posing as a Canadian revenue service. April is killed by Ryan when Laura and Curtis return to the cabin. Ryan kidnaps them and rigs the cabin to blow up but they escape.

In May 2021, Britt Westbourne and Jason Morgan hide out in a Canadian Lighthouse as he has escaped custody and she is running from Cyrus Renault. Britt wants to get tested for Huntington's Disease and Jason goes with her to a Canada Health Care clinic where she finds out she has the markers for the disease. They return to the lighthouse and Jason comforts Britt before they make love.

In October 5, 2022, Esme Prince reveals to her father Ryan Chamberlain that she was saved by a Canadian fisherman and recovered in a hostel after she fell off the parapet during her fight with Ava Jerome.

In December 2022 at a Edmonton Airport, Maxie Jones reunites with Damien Spinelli and Georgie Spinelli for Christmas as they were trying to reach each other in Port Charles and Portland during a snowstorm.

On January 11, 2024, wanting to complete the late Bobbie Spencer's last mission helping human trafficking victims, Felicia Scorpio and Carly Spencer investigate and track down the woman, Cornelia, to the Spencer cabin in Canada. She tries to attack them at first - then they gain her trust when she realizes Carly is wearing her mother's "B" necklace and they complete the rescue.

On January 25, Det. Harrison Chase finds a letter from Maggie Fitzgerald who is in Toronto as nanny for another family. She wants Esme Prince to visit her.
