Background[]
Jason and Sam were married on September 22, 2011 and in early October, they left town for their honeymoon in Hawaii. During the honeymoon, Sam became pregnant with Jason's child, however, she didn't discover her pregnancy until New Year's Eve and confirmed it with a pregnancy test. Franco, who had a strange obsession with Jason, followed them on their honeymoon and played a twisted mind game, leading them to believe that Sam had been raped.[25]
Initially, Danny was rightly believed to be the child of Jason and Sam because of the results of a paternity test. Sam experienced a lot of morning sickness and some cramping during the first trimester of her pregnancy. She was also under a lot of stress.
On April 12, 2012, Jason and Sam went in for an ultrasound and decided not to find out the gender. In late April to early May, Sam was kidnapped and held hostage at gunpoint by Lt. Ronnie Dimestico, but was saved by Det. John McBain and she and the baby were given a clean bill of health at GH.
Due to Heather Webber's deceit, it was believed that Jason and Franco were fraternal twin brothers, and a second DNA test was done. It showed that Franco was his father; however it was later revealed that the second paternity test was switched by Heather, and Jason is Daniel's biological father.
In November 2013, Heather finally admitted that she lied and reveals the truth that Jason and Franco are not twins. In reality, Franco is her (Heather's) son with Scott Baldwin, and all the havoc she wreaked on Sam and Jason's lives was out of revenge for Sam failing to deliver a letter to her other son, Steve.
Danny is seen as a miracle child because in May of 2006, Sam was shot in the back by Manny Ruiz, while in Jason's arms. She recovered after a month-long stay in the hospital; and later, she and Jason tried to start a family only to be told that she would never be able to have children as a result of the extensive damage done to her uterus from the gunshot wound.
However, in May of 2011, Sam underwent a procedure called fertility reconstruction; the surgery was a success, allowing her to carry Danny to term.
Through his father, he had an older sister named Emily Matthews-Morgan, who was miscarried in August of 2003, and he has an older brother named Jake Webber. Even though they are being raised in different households, Danny and Jake have a good relationship as brothers.
Through his mother, he had a older sister named Lila McCall, who was stillborn on November 8, 2004 and he has a younger sister named Scout Quartermaine. Danny is shown to be very protective of his little sister.
Danny was born during the year of the Dragon, which is also what his father, Jason symbolizes.[26][27] Danny has been shown to be athletic, playing many sports, including; baseball, basketball, swimming, soccer, mountain biking and snowboarding, with various family members attending his games.
Storylines[]
Danny was born onscreen June 1, 2012 to Sam McCall with the help of John McBain, when Sam goes into labor in John's motel room during a torrential storm that prevents her from getting to the hospital. Sam doubles over in pain and thinks that it's just Braxton-Hicks but then her water breaks. She ends up laboring and giving birth to a baby boy in the motel. After he is born John goes to get Sam's car to take her and the baby to the hospital but is attacked by thugs sent by Jason. Meanwhile, Sam noticed the baby had some breathing complications and when John does not return, Sam tries to find a way to the hospital herself. After his mother stumbled upon a cabin, he was set inside an empty flower planter for safekeeping. Sam passes out inside the cabin and is found by Todd Manning and Heather Webber.
Todd is distraught over the death of Téa Delgado's newborn son Victor Lord III and upon hearing crying from outside the cabin, finds Sam's son on the porch. At the same time, Téa stumbles upon the cabin and sees Todd holding Sam's child, falsely assuming that he was the child she had just given birth to and she then proceeds to thank Todd for saving him. Heather Webber convinced Todd to switch the baby with Téa's deceased son. Todd, Téa and the baby go to the hospital. Todd is taking the baby to the nursery when Sam and Jason arrive at the hospital with the stillborn child. There, Sam admits she was going to name the baby Jason after his father, even though they believed that Jason was not the baby's biological father at the time.
At the hospital, Dr. Steve Webber said that the baby may have a genetic disorder called beta thalassemia, also called Mediterranean Anemia, which Sam passed on to him and was prevalent in the Cassadine family. Téa wonders how that's possible since neither she nor Victor are Italian or Greek, which Dr. Webber said was common for the disorder. Téa names the baby Victor after "his father," and they return to Llanview. Soon after Téa leaves town with "Victor", the second paternity test was proven to be switched. The original document, in the hands of Heather Webber, proved that Jason is the baby's true father.
After a period of almost three months off screen, Téa and "Victor" are seen onscreen again at their home in Llanview, Pennsylvania. Heather broke out of Ferncliff and went to see Téa under the guise of wanting a fresh start and to make things right with the baby. When Heather gets to Téa's house, she introduces herself as her cousin, Susan Moore, and claims that she is only there to check on baby "Victor." Téa once again brings up the fact that neither her family nor anyone in her husband's family are carriers for beta thalassemia, yet baby "Victor" is a carrier. Téa thanks her for what she did on the night "Victor" was born and then gets a business call, leaving Heather all alone with the baby. Heather then reveals her plans of stealing baby "Victor," believing that she'll get better by raising a child.
After a deadly pathogen scare, Jason decided to look into the events of that night one more time. While looking through the medical records, Jason found that the blood type of the baby that Sam buried as her son, did not match her blood type or Franco's. After finding this discrepancy, Jason began to suspect that her son was still alive. Jason, with the help of Spinelli, began to put the pieces together. After re-testing the DNA of the baby who died, they were sure that Sam's baby was still alive.
Jason approached Steve Webber to see if he knew about his mother's whereabouts. Steve did not know where Heather was, but gave Jason information on Téa's baby. Jason began to suspect that Téa had Sam's baby in Llanview with her. He enlists the help of John and asks him to travel to Llanview to get a DNA sample from Téa's baby for confirmation. John brought the sample, and Jason then took the sample to the lab when he was approached by Elizabeth Webber. After he tells Elizabeth about the test, she insists on helping him. She takes the results to the lab and puts a rush on them. When she returns with the test results, Jason was upset to see that the baby's DNA was not a match to Sam's.
Hitting this roadblock discouraged Jason. However, Elizabeth came to his door with a confession: she had switched the DNA results and showed him the true results that showed Sam is the mother of Téa's baby. After receiving this latest news, Jason calls John and shows him the results. John goes to Llanview to break the news to Téa, while Jason heads to Alexis's house to tell Sam. Before he gets the chance to tell Sam, he gets a call from John telling him that Heather has kidnapped the baby. Heather holes up at a motel with "Victor," telling him they're going for good. Heather calls Todd, blackmailing him again, telling him to get money and fake passports for her and the baby. While she's waiting, though, his medication runs out and Heather takes him to the hospital to get some more. By then, Jason and Sam have gone to the hospital, as well.
Heather takes the baby to the stairwell, and is discovered by Olivia Quartermaine. When Olivia tries to get the baby, Heather pushes her down the stairs and takes "Victor" up to the roof. Jason and Sam find Olivia, and chase after Heather to the roof, cornering her. Heather refuses to hand the baby over. When the police surround the building, effectively stopping any chance of Heather escaping, she becomes unhinged. Heather tells Jason and Sam, "If I can't have this baby, no one can," and jumps over the ledge.[28] Jason saves the baby when he grabs him just before Heather falls, and gives him to Sam. He is finally reunited with his parents.
Téa comes by after realizing that the baby isn't hers, and says goodbye to "Victor." Though devastated, she gives him back to Sam and Jason, who rename their son Daniel Edward, after Sam's brother, Danny McCall, and Jason's grandfather, Edward Quartermaine. The next day, Daniel meets his grandmothers Monica and Alexis, as well as his two aunts, Kristina and Molly. Alexis lets Sam know that they are having all of Danny's baby items delivered to her house, where Sam is staying.
After they leave Jason tells Sam he wants her and Danny to come home with him. Sam agrees, and she and Jason take Danny home to Jason's penthouse, reuniting. That night, Jason is presumed dead when he disappears after being shot and thrown into the harbor. Sam finds out soon after that Jason is Danny's biological father. Danny is able to meet his namesake and great-grandfather, Edward Quartermaine, shortly before Edward passes away.
Sam takes Danny to see Edward and tells him that Jason is Danny's biological father. Edward reaches out a finger to Danny, which Danny shook, and Monica thanks Sam for bringing Danny to see Edward. Over the following weeks, Danny meets other members of his family including his great-aunt Tracy, cousin Michael, and newly-returned uncle, A.J. Danny spent his first Christmas with his mother and grandmother, Alexis.
A few months later, Heather escapes from Ferncliff and tries to head out of town. She intends on taking Danny to raise him as her son, because she wanted another chance at motherhood, having felt that she failed with her own children. Danny is at Alexis's house, with Rafe Kovich, Jr., Molly's friend. Heather claims to be the nanny, and tells Rafe, a fugitive, to hand Danny over or she'll call the police. Rafe gives Danny to her, and Heather takes Danny to the same pier where Jason died. There, she's confronted by Caleb Morley, whom she believes is John. Caleb chokes Heather and throws her into the water. He tries to take Danny, but is stopped by Todd, and has to escape when the police show up.
Sam shows up with Anna Devane, and Danny is returned to his mother. After the police leave, Sam is approached by Caleb, whom she realizes is not John. Caleb kidnaps both Sam and Danny, and brings them to Wyndemere, believing Sam is his long-dead wife, "Livvie Locke." When John shows up with Rafe and Lucy Coe, Caleb disappears with Sam, and John, Rafe, and Lucy rescue Danny. While John and Lucy go to find Sam, Rafe watches Danny. Heather comes to Wyndemere, and tries to take Danny, but this time, Rafe holds his ground, not allowing Heather to take off with the baby. Sam is rescued, and reunited with Danny.
At the courthouse, following a custody battle between Sam and Silas Clay over guardianship of Rafe Kovich, Jr., Sam catches Dr. Clay inspecting Danny. Dr. Clay questions the red bumps on Danny's arm and advises her to take Danny to the hospital. Sam already had Danny scheduled for a doctor's appointment later in the week, but takes him in early and Dr. Patrick Drake takes a blood sample. On June 5, Danny celebrates his 1st birthday (he was born on June 1st). Patrick tells Sam and Alexis that Danny may have leukemia, and when the test results return, it is confirmed that Danny does indeed have leukemia. Silas assists in Danny's recovery, and eventually lets Sam know that Danny needs to have a bone marrow transplant. Sam and her family put together a list of donors.
Meanwhile, Franco returns, and ends up in the hospital after being severely beaten. After suffering a seizure, he wakes up and believes he's actually Jason. He insists on wanting to see his "wife," Sam, and his "son," Danny. Eventually, he sneaks out and goes to Danny's room, then takes him out of the hospital and back to the penthouse. Sam eventually shows up, but Franco knocks her out and runs out of the penthouse with Danny. Franco takes Danny to the bridge where Jason often went, and it's shown that he is slowly losing his grip on reality. He starts to hold Danny over the edge of the bridge with plans to drop him, when Carly shows up, and talks him down, convincing him to hand Danny over to her.
Danny is brought back to the hospital by Sam and Silas, who find out that Franco is a match for Danny's bone marrow transplant, but Franco also has a brain tumor, requiring risky surgery that could potentially kill him. Sam asks Jason to make sure Franco survives for Danny's sake, hoping he will be able to save Danny. Franco makes it through surgery, but Patrick lets Sam know that he could possibly have cancerous cells in his body, which means his bone marrow cannot be transplanted into Danny. Silas later confirms this, and tells Sam that Franco cannot save Danny.
Sam and Alexis once again begin trying to find potential bone marrow donors for Danny. Sam asks media mogul Derek Wells -- later revealed to be Julian Jerome, Sam's father -- to run a story on the front page of the paper publicizing a bone marrow testing drive for Danny. "Derek" agrees, but a story about ELQ takes precedence, and to make it up to Sam and Alexis, Derek himself gets tested. Sam and Alexis are elated when Derek turns out to be a match. After a conversation with Alexis, "Derek" eventually realizes that he is actually Danny's grandfather. Danny receives a bone marrow transplant from Julian, and eventually recovers, allowing Sam to take him home.
Sam received the good news about Danny's recovery on Jason's birthday. One of Danny's first outings after recovering from surgery came when Alexis took him to visit Julian at his office. Alexis and Julian talked about how happy they were that Danny is healthy again and Julian gifted Danny with a toy race car. Danny is next seen in mid-November with Molly and TJ who were babysitting him while Sam attended Patrick's wedding. In late December, soon after the Christmas holiday, Sam and Danny visited Patrick. Patrick was glad to hear the news that Danny passed his 60-day biopsy.
Danny spent New Year's Eve with his aunt Molly. She let him stay up past his bedtime and they played until he tired himself out. In the morning, she took him to Kelly's for breakfast, where Sam met them. She picked him up from Molly and he spent New Years Day with his mom. Danny meets Robin Scorpio-Drake for the first time while at the park with his aunt Molly and TJ. Robin is happy to meet Danny and tells him about his father and her relationship with him. Unbeknownst to Danny, Molly or TJ, Robin's meeting with Danny was the deciding factor that made her choose to accept Victor Cassadine's offer.
Days prior, Victor revealed to Robin that Jason was still alive and was pulled out of the water the night he got shot. Jason is currently being held in cryogenic stasis and if Robin agrees to revive, Helena Cassadine and Stavros Cassadine, both also in stasis, for Victor, then she will have the chance to save Jason as well. Robin decides to save Jason so Danny can grow up with his father, and Jason could have the chance to learn that Danny is his biological son. When Sam goes out of town for a case, Danny spends a couple days at his grandma Alexis' house. While there, he is able to spend time with his grandmother and his grandfather, Julian, who stops by to see Alexis.
In early April, Danny appears at his home and spends time with his mom and Silas. In mid-May, Danny is spending time with his mom and uncle Lucas, when his grandpa Julian comes by to invite his mom and uncle to a family dinner. Julian spends some time with Danny before going home. On Danny's second birthday he spends time with his grandma Monica before his party. Later in the day, Danny's family and friends celebrate his birthday at the park, but the occasion is interrupted when Silas' wife, Nina Reeves arrives and reunites with her husband. The next day, his mom, Julian and Alexis got together at Kelly's for breakfast and threw Danny a do-over birthday party to make up for the one that was interrupted.
On July 28, Danny is seen with his grandma Alexis, aunt Molly and TJ at the Davis lake house to help bring Molly home from the hospital. Alexis volunteered to babysit because she wanted as much of her family as possible under the same roof to celebrate Molly being home and out of the hospital. When Molly and TJ went to put Danny to bed, he couldn't sleep because they left his favorite toy truck at his mom's house. Alexis, Molly and TJ decided to take Danny back to Sam's place to get the truck and not long after they left, the lake house exploded. Danny is next seen on September 10, at home spending time with his grandma Alexis and grandpa Julian. Julian bought Danny a new Monsters Inc. bowling set that they played with together. Later that night, his mom came home with Patrick, who was over to visit. Danny surprised them by being awake when he was supposed to be sleeping. Sam agreed to let him stay up a little while longer and he played cars with his mom and Patrick.
Danny is next seen at General Hospital with his mom for his doctor's appointment. Danny sees the doctor and gets a clean bill of health. As Sam and Danny are leaving the check-up, Danny runs into his father's hospital room and grabs his hand, however at the time, no one is aware that the "John Doe" in the hospital is Jason. Sam chases after Danny and tries to get him to let go of John Doe's hand, but he refuses. Elizabeth arrives a little while later and gets Danny to let go of Jason's hand by offering him candy. Danny spends some time in the room with his mom and Elizabeth, while they talk about John Doe and his condition.
Before leaving, Danny and his mom say goodbye to his dad and tell him to get well soon. Sam and Patrick travel to Amsterdam for a case she's working on and Danny stays with his grandma Alexis and aunt Molly. Danny is seen again on October 22 when Sam and Patrick return from Amsterdam. Sam and Patrick spend some time playing with Danny. After Danny mistakenly calls Patrick "daddy," Sam corrects him, shows him a picture of Jason and tells him about his father. Danny stares at the picture of him and his dad while he plays with his cars.
Danny is brought to GH by Alexis after a distorted lab result leads Sam to believe that his leukemia has re-emerged. Madeline Reeves tampered with Danny's blood work to make Sam believe his leukemia was back. She knew Sam would call Silas, as he is Danny's doctor and she wanted to distract Silas away from Ava Jerome, so her daughter, Nina, would have the opportunity to steal Ava's newborn baby girl. The distraction worked. Silas went to GH and ran more tests on Danny. Sam, Julian and Alexis were relieved when the tests came back negative to show that Danny is still in remission. As Sam and Danny are leaving the hospital, they once again run into Liz and Jason, who is now going by the name Jake, because he still hasn't recovered his memories. Danny feels the connection to his father and he runs to him and hugs him. Liz introduces "Jake" to Sam and they share a nice moment before Sam takes Danny home.
On Thanksgiving, Danny and Sam go to the Quartermaine mansion to spend some of the holiday with Grandma Monica and cousin Michael. After leaving the mansion, Sam and Danny head to Elizabeth's. Sam accepted an invitation from Patrick to spend Thanksgiving at Elizabeth's with him and Emma. By Sam accepting the invitation, Danny got to spend the holiday with his mother and father, though Jason is still unaware of his true identity. Danny is next seen at home with his mom when his Grandpa Julian comes over to visit. The next day, Sam takes Danny to the GH Christmas party where he spends time with his Grandma Monica.
Danny is next seen on March 4 at the Quartermaine mansion. Sam was in Boston visiting Nikolas and Spencer, after Spencer was admitted to Shriner's Hospital with severe burns. Monica was supposed to spend the day with Danny, but she got called into surgery, so he spent the day with his great-aunt Tracy and second cousin Ned instead. Danny played with cars and building blocks with Tracy and Ned, and then they all watched a movie. Tracy and Ned both enjoyed spending time with Danny and looked forward to the Quartermaine mansion filling with children again. On March 26, Danny goes into his mother's room to see her, after she returns from a trip to Boston to see Spencer. He surprises her and is confused to see Patrick there with her. Danny asks if Patrick is his daddy now, but Sam reiterates that he only has one daddy, who loved him very much, however Patrick would be spending more time with them. They both ask Danny if he is okay with that, and Danny says yes.
Weeks later, Danny is seen coming to visit his grandma Monica but visits with Sabrina Santiago instead. On the Fourth of July, Danny is seen watching fireworks with his mom and Patrick and then he runs to his father, who he spends time with. On August 14, Danny finally meets his older brother, Jake and they play together with motorcycles, while their mothers look on, Sam, with a smile on her face and Elizabeth, with a look of terror on hers. Right before Sam and Danny leave, Jake (Jason) comes back and sees them. A few days later, Sam comes home to find Danny with Ric and the three end up watching t.v. together.
Days later, Danny and his mom move in with Patrick and Emma. Danny is later seen celebrating Patrick's birthday with Sam, Emma and Anna. It is also revealed by Monica that Danny likes playing hide and seek with his aunt Tracy support hose. Next, Danny is seen dressed as a doctor along with Patrick for Halloween. He then goes trick or treating with his mom, Patrick and Emma. When they get back he sees his uncle Spinelli and Maxie. In early February 2016, his dad gets a phone call from Alice Gunderson, the Quartermaines maid, saying that his mom forgot pick him up from a birthday party. This was unlike Sam and it caused Jason to worry, with good reason as Sam was trapped in the basement of the Webber house. When Jason rescued Sam, they were both almost killed in an explosion. On February 12, 2016 (Valentines Day on the show), Danny is seen with his parents arriving at the penthouse when his mother, Sam comes home from the hospital. Later on, Danny and his father play and challenge each other to make their best "grrrrr" faces. Then Sam tells them it's getting late and that it's time for bed so Jason offers to tuck Danny in. Jason takes Danny upstairs and reads him a bedtime story. Later on, Jason reveals to Sam that Danny fell asleep in his arms.
On March 1, Sam brings Danny to visit Jake and to see his dad (at Jason's request) at Shriner's hospital in Philly. He also gives Jake a toy truck. Afterwards, he and Jake go to the hospital playroom to play with Cameron and Aiden. Danny is later seen with his parents, who are talking about how he and his mom are staying at the same hotel as his dad. Later on, Sam takes Danny back to the hotel to go to bed. A little while later, his dad shows up to tuck him in. While Sam reads him (and Jason) a story, he falls asleep in his dad's arms and then his mom and dad tuck him in. On May 9, Danny is over at the Quartermaine's (for a sleepover) and plays with their new dog Annabelle the II. At bedtime, Danny finds his mom and cousin Michael (who he calls uncle Michael) talking in the room that used to be his dad and uncle A.J.'s bedroom (which is now Danny and Jake's room). He tells them that Annabelle the II peed in aunt Tracy's closet while they were exploring in the mansion and asks them not to tell anyone. Before going to bed, Danny and Michael do a special hand shake and then Danny and his mom talk about Jason. He asks where his dad is, as he wants his dad to tuck him in as well. Then Sam sings Danny to sleep.
In June, while his parents were searching for Nikolas out of the country, Danny went to stay with his grandma Monica at the Quartermaine mansion. His parents returned about a month later and got engaged. On September 2 and 6, he is seen at his parents wedding with his mom's side of the family and his brother, Jake. On November 8, Danny is seen with his grandma Alexis after she picks him up from the Quartermaine mansion. They prepare cookies together and watch a movie while the cookies are baking. Alexis, who has been drinking wine, falls asleep on the couch. The oven timer goes off and Danny tries to wake his grandmother, but the alcohol has her in a deep sleep. Taking matters into his own hands, Danny runs into the kitchen as the cookies start to burn and the kitchen fills with smoke.
Shortly thereafter, Alexis awakes and smelling the smoke, runs into the kitchen, grabs Danny who is unharmed, and heads outside. She tells Danny to count to 20 as she rushes back inside to put the fire out. After the fire is extinguished, she hugs and comforts Danny, who is a little shaken from the ordeal. When Laura Spencer stops by for a visit, Alexis takes Danny upstairs and tucks him into bed. Later on, Danny runs back downstairs because he's had a nightmare about the smoke and Alexis comforts him.

He asks Sam and she confirms that he is Danny's biological father.
On November 22, Danny sees Patient 6 again. He is also seen at the Quartermaine's for Thanksgiving.
In December, Danny finds out that the man he thought was his father isn't and that he's his uncle Drew. Jason, Sam and Drew all break the news to Danny together. Unlike Jake, Danny takes it really well and is willing to get to know his father.
In February 2018, Danny spends the night at his father's new place for the first time. Carly decorated Danny's room and the rest of Jason's new place. Jason wanted to see if they could handle it themselves first. While Jason is in the kitchen getting Danny some club soda, Danny uses Jason's phone to call Sam and ask her to come over. In October 2018, Jason surprises Danny at the penthouse when he gets home from school. Danny shows his dad a book that he made about families and asks Jason if he loves Sam. He later goes to visit his grandma Monica at the Quartermaine Mansion while Jason and Sam put together a lego set for him. On Halloween, Danny spends time at Jason's place with his dad, Jake and Sam carving pumpkins.
In mid-December, Danny goes to GH with his parents to drop off some toys for Toys-4-Tots. Danny is excited afterward when his parents told him that they were all going home together.
In March 2019, Danny is at Kelly's with his mom and they have a run-in with Shiloh. Jason comes in and Danny is excited to see him. Later, Jason warns Shiloh to stay away from his family.
Danny is next seen on his birthday. He comes home with his dad and finds his mom talking to his grandpa Julian. Julian gives him a present and he also gets another present from his dad and mentions that his aunt Olivia is making him a cake for his birthday party. Danny opens his present from Jason and then puts it together with his mom and dad.
In late July, Danny goes to the park with his parents and plays with his soccer ball. He runs into Shiloh again. Shiloh taunts Jason and Jason warns him again to stay away from his family.
In August, Jason, Sam and Monica attend Danny's baseball game at the park and have a family day.
In October, Danny and Jason are having lunch at Kelly's. Jason explains to Danny that Sam, who had been falsely accused of a crime, would have to stay in prison for awhile until he could clear her name. He asks if Danny and Scout are okay staying at Monica's house, to which Danny agrees, saying they love it there. Monica stops by and Danny goes off to buy her coffee and donuts. Monica tells Jason that Danny reminds her of him.
In mid-November, Danny is heartbroken when Jason tells him that Sam might have to be in prison for two years. For Thanksgiving, Jason takes Danny and Scout to New York City to watch the parade. For Christmas, Jason takes Danny and Scout to see Santa at the park. Jason gets the kids some hot chocolate and then Alexis meets them. Jason gets a call and asks Alexis to take the kids home. Later, Jason arrives and surprises Danny and Scout by bringing Sam home and Danny gets to spend Christmas with his family.
In February 2020, Sam and Jason are separated due to restrictions on Sam's parole. Danny and Sam take Scout to Violet's birthday party at the Devane Manor and run into Jason, who is there to speak to Anna. Jason explains to Danny that he won't be able to be around for awhile and asks him to take care of Sam and Scout.
Danny is not seen again until August, but is often mentioned as being at school, the Quartermaine mansion or at various different sports camps.
In August, after making a deal with Valentin, Sam is able to get a new parole officer who allows her to see Jason. Danny is excited when he learns that Jason is moving back home.
In November 2020, Danny is having dinner with his mom at the Metro Court Hotel. They witness his grandma Alexis in a drunken confrontation with Cyrus Renault. Jason arrives and warns Cyrus away. Later, Jason takes Danny to The Floating Rib to teach him how to play pool. Danny tells Jason that he is worried about Alexis. Jason explains that sometimes people go through things, but they don't give up on family. Moments after they leave, an explosion goes off, set by Cyrus, in an attempt to kill Jason. The experience and new reality of Danny possibly getting caught in mob danger terrified Sam and she was unable to cope.
In early December, Jason, Sam and Danny are spending time together when Jason suddenly has to leave for work. Danny is disappointed and tells Sam that he wishes they had a normal family, he hates the guards following them around all the time and his friend's parents are afraid of Jason.
Sam begins to see the effect that Jason's frequent and long absences were having on the kids. After weighing her decision and related talks with Josslyn, Carly and Danny, she decides that she cannot stay with Jason and continue to expose her children to danger.
On Christmas Eve, Scout and Danny were upset that Jason wasn't there to hang stockings with them, so Sam invited him over to spend the night and spend Christmas morning together as a family.
In March 2021, Danny is hanging out playing video games with Leo and Rocco at the Quartermaine mansion. He goes down to the kitchen for snacks and runs into Jason. He tells his dad that he misses him and asks when they can hang out again. He also tells Jason that Sam has been crying in her room because of him.
In April, Jason is falsely accused of murdering Franco Baldwin and remanded to Pentonville. He's later stabbed as part of an escape attempt and sent to GH. Sam takes Danny to the hospital to visit Jason. Danny tells Jason that he believes he is innocent and Jason confirms that he is and that he is going to find a way to clear his name.
In November 2021, Jason is presumed dead again after he is caught in a tunnel collapse on Cassadine Island while trying to rescue Drew Cain and Liesl Obrecht from Peter August.
On Thanksgiving, Danny is seen watching the parade from the balcony of the penthouse with his mom, sister, Dante Falconeri and Rocco. They had plans to go to the Quartermaines for Thanksgiving, but then got the news about Jason. Danny is devastated at the loss of his father.
Danny spends Christmas at the Quartermaine mansion with his family. He is missing his dad. He looks at a photo album with his grandma Monica and they reminisce about his dad as she tells him stories. Monica shows Danny a picture of Jason with his motorcycle and Danny says that he wants to learn how to ride it when he gets old enough. Monica tells Danny that when he does, he should be safe and enjoy every moment because that is what Jason would want.
On Halloween 2023, Danny is seen at the Cassadine House with his brother, Jake, Georgie Spinelli and Charlotte Cassadine. The group plans to head out to the Harbor Vista neighborhood to trick-or-treat on their own. Valentin drives them to the neighborhood and gives them strict instructions before sending them off. The group walks around but it's already late, so many houses were out of candy and started giving out fruit or money instead. Charlotte sneaks away from the group and changes her costume. Meanwhile, Jake, Danny and Georgie realize she is missing.
Jake thinks he sees Charlotte in her new costume and sends Danny and Georgie off in the other direction while he attempts to follow her. Danny and Georgie head back to Valentin and tell him what's going on. Danny calls Jake and Georgie texts Charlotte but neither gets an answer. Charlotte shows up at Anna's apartment and rummages through her files. Anna returns home and senses that someone is inside. She enters the apartment, mistakes Charlotte's flashlight for a gun and shoots. Valentin leaves Danny and Georgie to go and look for Charlotte. He tells Danny to call his mom to pick them up. Danny was going to call a ride share for him and Georgie, but Sam told him to stay put and she would come to pick them up.
After dropping Georgie off at home, Danny arrives home with his mom and tells her and Dante about what happened. Dante gets a call about the shooting and has to leave. When alone with his mom, Danny expressed regret over not working harder to keep the group together and feels guilty. Sam says Danny reminds her of his father, trying to take the weight of the world onto his shoulders, but nothing that happened that night was his fault. The next morning, Sam and Dante tell Danny and Rocco that Charlotte was shot. Sam then arranges for all of the kids to see a therapist to help deal with the trauma of the event.
On February 14, 2024, Danny interrupts Sam and Dante's Valentine's Day evening when a police officer brings him home drunk. The cop said Danny was caught drinking with friends in the park. Sam is shocked because she didn't even hear him leave and she is further terrified to learn that he snuck out via fire escape from the penthouse floor. She takes away Danny's phone and grounds him. She later confides in Dante that she worries Danny may take after her and Jason's affinity for taking risks and chasing adrenaline. A few days later when Alexis comes over, Sam tells her that Danny took Jason's death really hard. He always wanted more time with his father and now she wonders if he is taking dangerous risks in order to emulate his father and feel closer to him.
In order to keep Danny occupied in a positive way while he is grounded, Sam arranges for him to volunteer at General Hospital through Elizabeth. While at the hospital to pick up Danny from his volunteer work, she runs into Elizabeth who shares some advice on how to raise teenage boys. Later, Sam takes Danny on a motorcycle to the bridge at Lookout Point so they can talk. The bridge was always special to Jason and she told Danny that she feels closer to Jason when she is there. Danny confides to Sam that he is missing his father more than usual and Sam comforts him.
On March 1, his little sister Scout's birthday party is held at the Quartermaine Mansion. Danny arrives with his mom, Scout and brother Jake. Also in attendance are Carly, Drew, Alexis, Michael, Willow, Leo, Wiley, Kristina and Blaze. When Danny meets Blaze he is star struck and has a little crush on her. Danny tells his mom that he left his coat at the boathouse and leaves to retrieve it. After being gone for awhile, Willow asks Jake to go and find Danny so they can cut the cake and open presents. Jake finds Danny lying down at the boathouse and he appears to be under the influence. Soon after, Jake finds a vape and confronts Danny about it. After some evasion, Danny admits that it's his and Jake is upset that his brother is vaping. Danny and Jake fight over the vape until Willow comes looking for them. She tells them to come and take a family photo and Jake slips the vape into his back pocket.
As Scout's party winds down, two major events occur. First, Jason is revealed to be alive after being presumed dead for two years. Second, Dante is shot by an operative named Hamish, who is working for Stone. At first, Jason appears to be working with Hamish, but after Hamish shoots Dante, Jason kills Hamish, calls 911 and administers life-saving first aid to Dante. News of Dante's shooting spreads and Sam and Olivia rush to the hospital. Drew stays at the mansion with the kids and Carly and later Laura comes over to help.
Danny is seen arguing with Rocco who is having a hard time after the news of his father's shooting. Carly reaches out to Danny to comfort him sensing that he is also pretty upset at the news. She tells him that he reminds her of Jason and shares with him some ways that they are alike. Afterwards, she encourages him to be there for Rocco, which he does. When Scout and Rocco fall asleep, Danny sneaks out of the mansion and heads to the hospital to check on Dante. He runs into Elizabeth first, who is concerned to see him out so late. She takes him to his mother, Sonny and Alexis. Sam is frustrated that he snuck out of the house again, but Elizabeth explains that he was just concerned about Dante.
Sam wants Danny to go back to the Q's and Sonny offers to call a car to drive him back to the mansion, but Danny insists that he wants to stay and wait for news on Dante. Alexis intervenes and suggests that Danny stay to keep her company and Sam agrees. Danny and Alexis go for a walk and she shares some comforting words with him before convincing him to go back to the Quartermaines and get some rest. He finally agrees and Alexis takes him back to the mansion.
The next morning Danny is headed to the Quartermaine Boathouse and is shocked to find his injured father there. Danny is angry and almost leaves to call the cops, believing that Jason shot Dante, but Jason swears that he did not do it and Danny ultimately believes him. Jason asks Danny for help and Danny brings him a first aid kit. Danny notices his father's gun and appears tentative and afraid. Jason quickly explains that the safety is on and should always be on if he ever has to handle a gun. As Jason is patching himself up, he tells Danny that Sam cannot know that he saw him or that he knows where he is. Danny is reluctant to keep things from his mother, but agrees.
Danny goes to the Quartermaine Gatehouse to ask his cousin Michael for help. Danny brings Michael to the boathouse and Michael is shocked to see Jason. Jason tells Michael about how Danny found him and then asks Michael to take Danny back up to the main house. Danny is upset because he wants to stay and help his dad, but Jason doesn't want him anywhere near the situation. Jason tells Danny that he missed him everyday when he was gone and was grateful that he helped him when he needed it, but now he needs Danny to help him by staying out of it. Danny leaves the boathouse upset and Michael goes after him at Jason's request.
Danny and Michael arrive back at the gatehouse and Michael tells Willow about Jason because he needs a nurse. Danny stays at the gatehouse to watch Wiley and Amelia, while Michael and Willow go to help Jason. Willow patches Jason up and gets him fluids and blankets. Michael comes back to the gatehouse and Danny is eager for an update. They talk about how Jason is innocent of shooting Dante. Ned interrupts when he calls Michael looking for Danny. Michael sends Danny back to the main house so that they won't send Yuri to look for him and promises that he will come in the morning to give Danny an update on Jason's condition.
Danny gets Yuri to drive him to the hospital so he can check on his mom and Dante. He runs into his mom and aunt Kristina out in the hall talking. Sam catches him as he tries to sneak away and he finally has a chance to talk with her about his father being back, although he does not reveal to Sam that he found Jason in the Quartermaine boathouse. Sam asks Kristina to take Danny back to the Quartermaines and they make a stop at a midnight donut shop first before Kristina takes him home.
The next day, Danny comes home from school and immediately goes to the boathouse to check on his dad. He steadies Jason just as he is trying to stand and gets dizzy. Danny sits and talks with Jason for a little while. They start to bond as Danny tells him about starting high school and Jason asks about his interests and what he likes to do. Jason is just about to tell Danny about the accident that left him with brain damage when Willow arrives and interrupts. She tells Danny that he should get back to the house so that no one will get suspicious and come looking for him. Danny says goodbye to his dad and leaves.
Danny is in the Quartermaine solarium doing his homework when F.B.I agent, John Cates arrives to ask him some questions about his father. Danny plays things off and does not give anything away that he knows where his dad is. Before John can question Danny any further, his cousin Brook Lynn Quartermaine arrives and tears into John for questioning a minor without his parent or legal guardian present. After Brook Lynn kicks John out, she tells Danny he can come back into the room, already knowing that he was eavesdropping. Danny was impressed with how Brook Lynn handled the cops. Brook Lynn tells Danny to never speak to the cops without his attorney present and then she gives him the number for the ELQ attorneys. She also schools him on the Quartermaine code of how to deal with law enforcement.
Not wanting to implicate Danny, Michael or Willow and with the FBI leverage hanging over his head, Jason decides to turn himself in. When Danny returns to the boathouse the next day, he is saddened to find it empty. Jake finds him there and they talk about their dad's upcoming arraignment. Jake believes Jason is guilty while Danny knows their father is innocent. Danny is already in a bad mood which sours even further when Jake continues to talk bad about their father and question if Danny even cares about Dante and Rocco. Danny loses his temper and punches Jake. The two fight and Jake storms off after knocking Danny down. Sam finds him soon after and reveals that she just saw Jason, who told her about Danny helping him. Sam is furious with Jason and tells Danny that it's not ok to lie to her under any circumstance. She also tells Danny that her trust in Jason to protect him is broken and Danny never has to see his father again. Danny is thrown by that statement and uncomfortable with it. Later in the day, he speaks into his father's arraignment at the Port Charles Courthouse to support him. He tries to sneak out at the end before anyone sees him, but Elizabeth catches sight of him and follows him out.
Later that night, Danny is getting ready to play a board game at the Quartermaine Mansion with Lois, Olivia and Rocco. Olivia gets the calls from Sam that Dante is awake and Olivia, Rocco and Danny rush to the hospital. They reunite with Dante and Danny asks Dante to clear his dad's name. Dante calls Anna down to the hospital and tells her that not only was Jason innocent of shooting him but he had saved his life. With Dante's statement the charges against Jason were dropped. When Dante is released from the hospital, Danny picks up donuts from Eckert's Bakery to help celebrate.
A few days later after school, Danny sneaks into his dad's room above Bobbie's. He goes through some of his dad's things and tries on his leather jacket. Jason arrives back to the room catching Danny. Danny asks his father if they could spend time together secretly just like at the boathouse. Jason apologies for putting Danny in that position. He doesn't regret spending that time with him but lying to Sam was not ok. Jason takes Danny back home and Sam is not happy that Danny snuck out to see Jason. Jason suggested that he and Sam talk and Danny wants to stay for the conversation but Kristina convinces him to go and spend time with her so Sam and Jason can talk alone. Danny and Kristina go to Haven Bistro and he confides in her about the situation with his parents.
Danny is next seen arriving at his father's Corinthos Coffee office. Knowing the boundaries that he and Sam set, Jason is immediately concerned to see Danny there. He reiterates that Danny is not supposed to be at the warehouse because the neighborhood is dangerous, especially at night. Danny told his father not to worry because Yuri drove him over and was waiting outside. Danny tells Jason that he came with a message from Monica. Monica is not well enough to attend Brook Lynn and Chase's wedding, so she wants Jason to go and represent her. Jason is taken aback at first but then quickly agrees. Danny is glad and then Jason takes Danny back home.
On June 27, 2024, Jason picks up Danny to take him to work out at Volonino's Gym. The gym is closed, so they go to the garage instead. Danny and Jason spend time together fixing a motorcycle. Danny learns how to change the oil while Jason shares with him the story of how he was left with permanent amnesia following a car accident with his brother. Danny wants to learn how to ride the motorcycle, but when Jason says they would need to ask Sam as well, Danny changes his mind, knowing that his mother will likely say no.
On July 22, Danny is having breakfast at Bobbie's with his dad. They plan to spend the weekend taking a speedboat to the Toronto Islands. Agent Cates disrupts their breakfast and tells Jason to cancel their plans because he has anther assignment for him. Jason grudgingly tells Carly to take Danny home, who is visibly disappointed. Later, Jason calls Danny from the Port Charles Bus Station to say goodbye. He is being forced to take another undercover assignment out of town. Jason can't give Danny much information, which only serves to frustrate him. Danny tracks Jason down at the bus station and confronts him about what's going on. Jason maintains that he doesn't have a choice and as much as he wishes he could stay in town and be the father that Danny deserves, he can't. Jason and Danny have a tearful goodbye, but before Jason can leave, Josslyn Jacks and Giovanni Palmieri arrive with the news that Agent Cates arrested Carly.Crimes Committed[]
