The Port Charles Courthouse is located in the heart of downtown, apparently very close to the police department. It consists of courtrooms and the offices of former district attorneys Scott Baldwin and Ric Lansing.

The courthouse was renovated in 2021.

It has been the sight of many life changing court battles, including:

• In 1994, Edward Quartermaine went on trial for the murder of Bradley Ward (he was acquitted when Mary Mae Ward announced that Bradley was actually Edward's son). Judge Winston Harding presided.
• In 1998, Carly Benson shot Tony Jones in open court.
• In 2005, Faith Rosco was shot and killed here by a sniper.
• In 2007, Jason Morgan and Amelia Joffe came under fire outside of the building.
• In 2010, Sonny Corinthos stood trial for the murder of his wife, Claudia Zacchara-Corinthos (though he was acquitted when Michael Corinthos confessed to killing Claudia). Judge Peter Carroll presided.
• In 2012, Maxie Jones was sentenced to 20 years (though she is later released after new evidence points to Matt Hunter). Judge Enrique Lopez presided.
• In 2012, Todd Manning pulled a gun on Sonny Corinthos, only to be stopped by John McBain.
• In 2018, Kiki Jerome sued Dr. David Bensch for sexual harassment and won. Judge Henry Pierce presided.
• In 2019, Franco Baldwin underwent a mental capacity hearing, after being forced to have Drew Cain's personality mapped into his brain. The case was dropped when "Drew" agreed to have the procedure reversed. Judge Rachel Lasser presided.
• In 2020, two court battles for Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos; the baby switch (Judge Rachel Lasser presided) and his custody (Judge Richard Lowe presided).
• In 2021, Alexis pleads guilty of assault after accidentally stabbing Dante Falconeri with a syringe of lidocaine while aiming for Franco Baldwin, and is sentenced to three years in prison (Judge Naomi Carson presided). She was transferred to Spring Ridge on Jul 23, 2021 and was pardoned and released on Nov 8, 2021.
• Also in 2021, after false witness testimony accuses Jason Morgan of Franco's murder, his bail is denied, and he is remanded Pentonville to await trial (Judge Pierce presided). He is exonerated on Jun 4, 2021.
• In July 2021, Martin and Molly provide a incriminating recording of Judge Naomi Carson's judicial crimes and misconduct to the P.C.P.D. From this evidence, Commissioner Jordan Ashford is able to order Shawn and Alexis to be released to her local protective custody, reuniting the Ashford & Davis families. The recording is sent to the judicial review board, where all of her presided cases will be reviewed for bias and possibly overturned. On the 20th, the Attorney General of New York remands Alexis to Spring Ridge Prison, and the Governor (concerned about optics and polling numbers in a reelection year) has Shawn released for time served with the paperwork expedited.
• In Autumn 2021, Spencer Cassadine pleads guilty on Dec 23, 2021 for stalking and terrorizing his stepmother Ava Cassadine. He covered for his partner-in-crime and then-girlfriend Esme Prince, who is revealed to have manipulated him into his actions. His great-great uncle Victor Cassadine arranges a light sentence of 30 days in Spring Ridge Prison, 500 hours of community service and making restitution to Ava as a result. He is released from Spring Ridge on Mar 23, 2022.
• In 2022, Trina Robinson is falsely accused of filming Cameron Webber and Josslyn Jacks having sex, then releasing it to the public. She was framed by the true culprit, Esme Prince - who didn't count on Trina having a large support system with everyone but Nikolas believing her to be innocent. She is released without bond pending a trial on Apr 1, 2022. On August 16 Trina is exonerated, due to the testimony of Oz Haggerty, who sold Esme the black-market phone, then made a deal with Robert and Jordan.
• In 2023, Tracy Quartermaine sues Deception Cosmetics over the rights to The Deceptor, claiming they stole it from her. The Deception team is stunned that there is evidence to prove this, and are given 6 months to review and dispute. They believe this will bankrupt the company - which is part of Tracy's plan - with the goal of her taking 75% ownership of the cosmetic company.
