On February 16, 2022, it was revealed that Harmony Miller is not Willow Tait's mother. Harmony told Alexis Davis that she and her husband Douglas Miller were a part of a Denver, Colorado commune in Clairborne County called "Friends of Peace and Love" which was led by a man named Josiah. There was a woman named Joan in the commune who was pregnant and a week after she gave birth, she was gone. Harmony also revealed that she and Douglas thought about Joan coming back and claiming the baby all the time and when Willow was two, they couldn't stand the thought of losing her so they left the commune and Colorado altogether.
Willow couldn't find her birth certificate and asked Harmony for help locating it. Harmony hired a forger named Bucky to create a birth certificate for Willow and claimed to Willow that Clairborne County was outdated in their filing system.
In May, Harmony dies and she makes Carly Spencer promise to not tell Willow that Willow and Nelle were twin daughters of Nina. Later after Willow finds out about Harmony's crimes, she tells Carly she doesn't want to know who her birth mother is.
In November, a pregnant Willow confesses to her boyfriendMichael Corinthos that she has Stage IV leukemia and has delayed getting chemotherapy for the baby's health. She will need a bone marrow transplant but doesn't think she has any family left as she isn't sure what happened to Joan. Michael's uncleDrew Cain agrees to help Willow when she mentions researching her birth parents.
Lauren Hart, a reporter with the Aurora Media affiliate in Tucson calls Drew about news on Friends of Peace and Love. She tracked down the last known location of the commune. They vanished years ago into the Mojave desert. Drew tells Lauren to keep searching.
On December 5, 2022, Drew tells Carly he has a firefighter named Denise Makenzie who was in the Friends of Peace and Love commune is coming to the Metro Court Hotel to talk to him. He is hoping to find some news about Willow's biological parents.
On December 12, Drew talks with Denise who tells him the same story Harmony did. She also adds that Joan died of an overdose years later and she had no siblings. Joan left and the leader Josiah gave Kali to Doug and Harmony. Denise claims Harmony was always honest and a couple years later Harmony and Doug Miller left Colorado with the baby.
Drew asks if Joan went looking for the family. Denise says Joan got mixed up with drugs. Years later Denise was an EMT and responded to an fatal overdose call at a flophouse which was Joan. Drew asks if Joan had any siblings. Denise said none that she was aware of and most members lost touch with family when they joined the commune.
Drew wonders if Joan knows who Kali's father was. Denise doesn't know as Joan was only close to Josiah who was upset when she left.
It is later revealed that Carly paid off Denise to tell Drew this information and Joan isn't even a real person. Denise was supposed to tell Drew that both of Willow's bio parents were dead but Denise wanted more money.
On December 19 at Charlie's Pub, Drew questioned Denise about everything she said as he found out there was no one listed in Clairborne County who died of a drug overdose. Carly comes in and Denise admits that Lorraine and Doug arrived at the commune with a baby. Lorraine told Denise that Joan had given her the baby.
On December 27, Drew tells Carly that his reporter from Clairborne County, Brian, is doing research of Josiah and he shows Carly a picture of Josiah. Carly finds a file about Josiah that matches the picture and hides it from Drew in her purse. She tells Drew she didnโt find anything and he calls Brian to research all Josiahs in the area.
