Giovanni "Gio" Palmieri is a fictional character in the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. He is the biological son of Det. Dante Falconeri and his teenage flame, Brook Lynn Quartermaine, and the adoptive son of the late Francis Palmieri and his late wife, Camila Palmieri.
He has been portrayed by Giovanni Mazza[6][7] since May 15, 2024. Mazza's original audition was for a day player role.[8]

Gio arrived in town as a cousin of the Cerullo family, however on February 6, 2025, it's revealed that he is truly the secret biological son of Brook Lynn Quartermaine and Dante Falconeri, conceived when both were teens in high school and away at summer camp.
Gio was secretly adopted and raised by Lois' cousin, the late Camila Palmieri, nรฉe Cerullo, and grew up having no idea that he was adopted. He was raised surrounded by Cerullos and Falconeris in Bensonhurst. Previously unbeknownst to him, he is also related to the Falconeri clan. His maternal grandmother and great-grandmother, Lois and Gloria Cerullo are the only ones who know the truth of his identity and the details of his adoption.
In the summer of 2002, Dante and Brook Lynn developed feelings for one another and had a fling while away at summer camp. Dante and his best friend Cody Bell went to Camp Cooper for the boys and Brook Lynn went to Camp Martha for the girls. All three were camp counselors in training at the time. Brook Lynn admitted to not being very good at counselor training.
While at camp Brook Lynn started to feel home sick, so Dante would sneak over after lights out for the night and they would talk. One night, Dante and Brook Lynn got carried away and had unprotected sex. After that, they wanted to spend all of their time together, so Cody would cover for them while they snuck off to be together. Later, Brook Lynn left camp after discovering she was pregnant. Desperate, she confided in Cody about her pregnancy and swore him to secrecy. He then gave her some money and a ride to the bus station. The only other person she told was her mother Lois.
Lois and Brook Lynn agreed that she was too young to be a mother and they decided to put the baby up for adoption without ever telling Ned, Dante or his family about the pregnancy. Brook Lynn went on tour with her mother and Miguel Morez to hide the pregnancy. She carried to full term and gave birth to Gio without any complications after 12 hours of labor. Afterward, Lois arranged for a private family adoption. The year after Gio's birth, Brook Lynn went to live with her father, Ned, in Port Charles.
Camila was also in on the plan with Lois and Gloria once she agreed to take Gio and raise him so he would still be close to the family. Camila faked her pregnancy and went on tour in New Zealand with the Nicola Quartet to cover up her absence. As part of the cover up, once he was older, Gio was told that Camila went into labor in Los Angeles while on stage during the tour, but in actuality Camila was still in New Zealand when he was born. She quit the tour with the quartet as soon as Gio was born to come back to the States and take him home to Bensonhurst with her.
Gio lost his adoptive mother Camila when he was 12 and was taken in by his maternal great-grandparents, Carmine and Gloria Cerullo. He was then raised by Carmine and Gloria with Lois' help. Gio was born on May 15, but he was told that his birthday is June 4.

Since he was 12, his education has been paid for by his paternal grandfather, Sonny Corinthos. But Sonny and Olivia Quartermaine were unaware that Gio is their grandson until Gio reveals his parentage during his performance at The Nurses' Ball. Sonny also paid for Gio's violin lessons which helped him become a talented violinist. Gio is musically inclined, like his mother and grandfather, Ned. He is seated first chair in the Port Charles University Orchestra.
After Brook Lynn finds out that she and her husband, Harrison Chase will never be able to conceive a child of their own, she starts to think about her first born and tells her mother that she might want to find him one day. Lois then goes to attorney Martin Grey and confesses everything to him under attorney-client privilege, so she can get legal advice on how to make sure the adoption never comes to light.
On February 12, 2025, while hanging out with his new friend, Emma Scorpio-Drake, Emma had noticed that Dante and Gio have similar eyelashes. Unaware of their father-son relation, Dante attributed their good looks to them both being Italian and from the old neighborhood, until the news was shockingly revealed to him during the 2025 Nurses' Ball. Gio himself angrily revealed his true parentage onstage in front of everyone after he overheard Lois and Lulu Spencer discussing the matter in a backstage room.
Storylines[]
Gio Palmieri came to Port Charles as a cousin of Lois Cerullo and Brook Lynn Quartermaine. He attends her wedding to Harrison Chase, where he puts his talents to use by playing his violin while Ned Quartermaine walks Brook Lynn down the aisle. "Uncle" Sonny talks to Gio about how he paid for his violin lessons and Gio mentions he just finished his second year of college. Gio bonds with Dex Heller over his late father being deployed in 2002.
On May 23, 2024, Gio moves into the Quartermaine Mansion, after Monica Quartermaine gives the "okay" and Lois calls him extended family and mentions he is 21.
On June 6, 2024, Gio is present at the opening day of the MC Pool for his new job as an attendant. When Josslyn Jacks jokingly calls them "nepo hires" he admits Olivia made him interview and he's on a month probation. Gio tells her he's doing a concert in the park this summer, and she comments that people camp out in advance to get tickets to it - though he has free tickets.
She accidentally knocks him into the pool as they are picking up errant towels; and they both laugh it off.
Trina Robinson shows up and is stunned watching Gio emerge wet - reminding her of when she first met Spencer. She learns he's a violinist and is playing at Summer Stage, and he will get them free tickets. They are surprised to learn he will be attending PCU and playing for the university in the fall. He auditioned for them and won a full scholarship. They warn him scholarship students are put up in the worst dorms with no hot water - but he's staying at the Q mansion.
Trina tells him they're looking for musicians to perform at the Jerome Gallery. Gio is interested and gives her his number.
After, Josslyn noticed Trina seemed frazzled. Trina admits Gio stepping out of the pool just reminded her of Spencer, and Joss comforts her.
After Dex Heller arrives, Gio and Trina talk about them and how they are patching things up. Gio is confused why they ever broke up in the first place, and Trina shares that it has to do with Sonny Corinthos, "He's basically awful."
Gio bristles at this, telling her Sonny is his benefactor and beloved by his family. When he questions why she seemed stunned to meet him, she admits he reminds her of someone she was close to, who died. She runs off. Josslyn comforts her again, offering to beat up Gio if he upset her.
He flirts and appears to be attracted to Trina. They later go on to develop a good friendship instead.
His background is further explained on July 17 - Lois explains Gio's mother, Camila Cerullo, was a cousin from Italy and came to America to play for the Brooklynn Philharmonic. She was only here six months when she fell for Gio's dad, Francis Palmieri. She says they had a whirlwind romance and eloped right before he was deployed. Then she found out she was pregnant, but before she could tell Francis, he was killed in action.
In October 2024, Trina Robinson invited him to the bon voyage party for her grandfather, Marshall Ashford, at The Savoy, as her plus one. Late in the party Ric Lansing shows up and announces that Heather Webber's convictions as the hook killer was overturned, and she would be released the next day. This upsets Trina's family. Later that evening, Gio shows up at Trina and Josslyn's apartment to check on Trina. Trina tells him Heather's release seems wrong. He suggests she use music and singwriting as a way to process her feelings of anxiety. He stays the night on her couch to reassure her.
On the day that Ava Jerome, Trina's friend and employer went on trial for causing the death of Irene Marie Davis-Ashford, Gio stopped by Trina and Josslyn's apartment for a friendly visit. He knocked on her door, but Trina was listening to music through headphones and dancing, so she didn't hear. He opened the door and saw her dancing, but he also startled her. They caught up about school. He nicknamed her the Iron Songbird and recited a poem that seemed original. As they talked about Ava's trial, he told her a guilty or innocent verdict is not the point. He said the point is a jury will be impressed to see Trina standing by a friend, and that doing the right thing instead of the popular thing is a sign of true character. Gio then takes Trina's hand and helps her stand up. He puts her headphones back on her head, starts the music on her phone and they dance together.
In November 2024, Gio met Lulu Spencer, who was awakened from her coma and escaped from Turning Woods, and was headed to the Quartermaine Mansion to find Tracy, while he was performing a recital at the Quartermaine Boathouse.
In December 2024, Gio starts to form a friendship with Emma Scorpio-Drake, who returned to town and met him during a Christmas celebration at Rice Plaza.
On February 24, 2025, after talking with Lois, Sonny pays for Gio and Lois to attend his school's music program trip to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Gio expresses how grateful he is to have Sonny in his life, unaware that Sonny is his grandfather.
On March 3, Gio and Dante head to Bobbie's for dinner together. Gio wanted to get some advice from Dante about how to fit in amongst all of the Quartermaines and he thought Dante would understand since he is only connected to the Q's by his mother's marriage. Dante reassures him that all of the Q's love having him around the mansion, but Gio isn't so sure about Tracy. He thinks he's now on Tracy's bad side after speaking up about her cease and desist order against Drew Quartermaine using the family name. Gio explains that he spoke up on Scout's behalf because a name change could force her to change her name too.
Dante says he doesn't have the same last name as his father and it's not an uncommon thing. But to Gio, family names matter. Gio never knew his father, but he is proud to carry his last name and it means a lot to him. Dante tells Gio that despite appearances Tracy really does like it when he stands up to her and even though she'll never admit it, she respects him for it. Gio smiles and shares that Tracy did say he would be a better Quartermaine than Drew.
On March 4, Lulu Spencer breaks into her uncle Martin Grey's hotel suite looking for information on her daughter, Charlotte Cassadine's whereabouts. Instead, she comes across Martin's notes from his session with Lois Cerullo and she is shocked to discover that Brook Lynn and Dante had a child together when they were teens. She goes to see Cody Bell at the Quartermaine Stables and cons him into confirming the story under false pretenses.
On March 6, Sonny visits Gio at the Quartermaine Mansion because he has set up an educational trust for Gio that needs his signature. He interrupts a morning breakfast between Lois, Dante, Brook Lynn, Tracy and Gio. Tracy wants to review the documents that Sonny wants Gio to sign and when she sees that it's for an educational trust, she is adamantly opposed. She insists that Gio's education should now be managed by her and the Quartermaine family, since he is living under their roof. She also doesn't want Gio affiliated with Sonny's "dirty money." Despite Tracy's objections, Gio signs the documents for the trust. Dante, Brook Lynn and Lois walk Sonny out and Gio is left alone with Tracy. She is impressed with him. Tracy says it took a lot of nerve for Gio to defy her not once but twice and she thinks the other Q's could learn from his example.
On March 11, Gio's maternal great-grandmother, Gloria Cerullo, comes to town for a visit and it's revealed to Brook Lynn that she knows all about Gio and his adoption because Lois confided in her. However Brook Lynn remains in the dark about Gio's true identity. Gio and Brook Lynn share a moment outside the Quartermaine crypt that Gio is guarding for Tracy, who was arrested by Drew earlier in the day. Drew's latest scheme is claiming that the crypt is over the Quartermaine property line and partially sitting on protected land so it must be moved. Gio promised Tracy he would keep watch overnight to make sure no one comes and tries to take any action while she is arrested.
On March 17, Gio returns from Trinaโs birthday party, and Tracy asks Gio, if he saw any government officials or a bulldozer out there. He says no, and Brook Lynn asks her Granny what sheโs up to. As Sasha brings Tracy and the others tea, and Tracy tells Brook Lynn, Chase and Gio that she is securing the family, and this thing with the family crypt has gotten out of control. She blasts Chase for siding with the enemy, but Gio interrupts and says Chase was just following the law. However, maybe there is a way to make the law work for her. Tracy says, โAs it should, got to run!โ Tracy heads out. Later, Gio helps Sasha clean up, and they chat about Tracy and how sheโs taken them in, even if they arenโt a part of the family.
On March 26, Gio and Emma show up at the Deception Cosmetics and immediately realize they have bad timing, because of Brook Lynn and Lulu argument about Brook Lynn's secret. Brook Lynn says they were having a disagreement. Lulu states they were fighting because Brook Lynn is a self-servingโฆ Brook Lynn cuts her off, and Lulu storms out. Brook Lynn canโt stand to think about how Tracy will react to Lulu quitting. Gio tells her they have an idea that will give Tracy what she wants the most. They tell her their plan to save the crypt. Brook Lynn loves it but asks why bring this to her. They explain they went to Ned, which she calls a mistake as her father only sees financials. They ask if they should pursue this, but Brook Lynn tells them no.
Brook Lynn admits itโs a good plan, but she doesnโt want them to get involved in the Quartermaine infighting. However, sheโll try to talk to her dad about it. Brook Lynn receives a call she has to take, so Gio and Emma leave. Emma suggests to Gio that itโs Monica they should be talking to, as the house belongs to her.
On March 28, Gio and Emma show up after Trina at the Quartermaine Crypt, and Ezra Boyle serves them the legal papers ordering the demolition. Gio says heโs not a Quartermaine, none of them are. Monica owns the property, so she has to be served. Emma says the family is fighting this, but Ezra says nothing, and no one can stop this building from coming down. Back at the crypt, the sheriff says he has served Yuri the paperwork but feels itโs still not legal as he isnโt the owner of the house. Ezra doesnโt care and tells the construction crew to get started. Emma tells Gio and Trina to stall and runs off. Trina begins recording on her phone, and she and Gio point out there are family remains in there, and unearthing them is not just unethical but a health violation.
The construction foreman says he doesnโt deal with dead bodies and walks off. Gio says he is a registered voter and Catholic and believes his constituents would be horrified by his treatment of the Quartermaine family membersโ remains. Ezra says there is no point in delaying this. Suddenly, Emma returns and chains herself to the crypt door and says theyโll tear this building down over her dead body. Ezra tells the sheriff to arrest her. Tracy arrives and threatens to call her friend, the judge, and report the sheriff to him if he lays a hand on that young lady. Emma meanwhile tells Trina to make sure she records everything and tells Gio to call her grandmother.
On March 31, At the Quartermaine crypt, Gio and Trina watches as Anna places Emma under arrest and takes her away. The sheriff attempts to arrest Tracy, who warns him not to touch her. Yuri stands with Tracy, and Trina continues filming what is happening. Tracy explains to Trinaโs livestream that this crypt is the resting place of her mother, father, brother, and other family members. She goes on to say for fifty years her family has helped to keep General Hospital open and serving Port Charles. Bulldozing this crypt is nothing but Congressman Cutthroat Cainโs personal vendetta against her, and heโs been assisted by Councilman Boyle. Trina posts the speech, but Ezra says their time is up, and nobody is coming to help a rich old lady save her land. The sheriffs arrest Yuri and try to carry Tracy off.
Diane arrives with a cease-and-desist order and demands Tracy be unhanded. Ezra wonders whose authority this comes from, and Diane says, โFrom Dr. Monica Quartermaine.โ Ezra looks it over and says itโs legit, and asks how Monica did this. Diane explains Monica struck a deal with the Port Charles Land Trust, and the Quartermaines donated another piece of land to the trust to keep the crypt. Gio and Emmaโs plan worked. Tracy orders Ezra off her property. Diane tells Tracy that Monica wanted her to tell her to come to her first next time there is trouble. Diane heads off, and Gio asks what theyโll do about Emma. Tracy says sheโll get her released, so Gio decides to accompany her to the station. Tracy thanks Trina for her part in helping protect her family. Later, Kai Taylor shows up to see Trina and says her livestream was pretty edgy
On April 2, Gio comes to court to support Emma, and doesnโt understand why she did what she did when she had a record. She says what happened in California was stupid and embarrassing, but this was for a good cause. Gio notes he would have chained himself in her place, but she cries she couldnโt let him do that as it could have ruined his scholarship. Anna returns to the courtroom, and Tracy and Gio thank Emma for what she did. They head out, and Anna tells her granddaughter that she needs to know who these priors of hers are. Emma cries that she canโt tell anyone, ever, and that she had to sign an NDA to avoid jail.
On April 10, Gio and Emma meet with Joss at the Surf Lodge, and they welcome her home from Easter Island. Joss thanks Emma, and explains Trina told her how she saved the Quartermaine crypt. She says Michael doesnโt need any more heartache, especially from his disgusting uncle. Joss takes off, and Gio asks what is up with the frenemyโs vibe between her and Joss. Emma explains that it started when they were kids, and they both had crushes on this guy, Cameron Webber. She knows she should let it go, but Joss is entitled and tends to throw money at problems to make them disappear. She says Joss has never paid the price for her actions. Gio says, unlike her, who, for example, got expelled from her old school. She likes that he understands her. Gio would understand more if he knew why she was expelled.
Emma says she had to sign an NDA, so she canโt discuss it. Gio tells her he gets it, but she has the wrong idea about Joss. Giosays Joss has had to deal with multiple boyfriends dying, and she was targeted in revenge porn. Plus, sheโs been nothing but kind to him, and she donated to Emmaโs fundraiser. Emma says that was so Joss didnโt have to volunteer, and Joss doesnโt believe in anything enough to risk putting herself or her future on the line. Gio asks if she looks down on him the way she does Joss, as he hasnโt put himself on the line for something either. Emma says she doesnโt look down on Joss, and he has plenty of time to find out what heโs passionate about. He asks about her punishment, and Emmaโs fine with picking up garbage as long as it doesnโt make her miss Professor Daltonโs environmental physics class.
On April 15, Gio is practicing his violin by the boathouse when Brook Lynn arrives. She tells him she was hoping heโd perform in the Nurses Ball, which sheโs co-producing with Lucy. Gio feels a violin solo act isnโt the best fit, as classical music can put people to sleep. Brook Lynn promises that wonโt happen as sheโll be his producer. Gio accepts her offer and is psyched to work with her. Later, Lois finds Gio practicing down on the docks. Sheโs shocked heโs playing something from this century. He tells her that he will be performing at the Nurses Ball and Brook Lynn will produce his act. Lois loves that they are teaming up. Gio says his mom always said collaborating with other artists is the key to becoming a great artist. He believes his mom is still looking out for him.
On April 17, Gio arrives at Sonny's New Place for Dante's Birthday Party with his grandmother Lois, his aunt Kristina Corinthos-Davis, and Danny Morgan. Gio was introduced to Lulu, who thinks back to finding her Uncle Martinโs notes on Dante and Brook Lynnโs kid. Later, Gio, Danny, and Rocco are all out on the patio talking about the news and rumors about Sonny. Gio heads in to get a soda and Danny tells Rocco that he dodged a bullet since his grandma didnโt show up. Itโs best Sonny doesnโt come to the debate. Out front, Sonny tells Dante heโs ready to fight back if the referendum doesnโt go his way.
Inside, his aunt Donna Corinthos hands Gio some cake and Lulu asks if he ever misses home. Sometimes, yeah, he saw how much work his mom put in. Lois jumps in trying to turn the topic, then Olivia jokes about how Gioโs mom worked literally up to the last second. Going into labor during a concert in Los Angeles. Lulu, then just stares at Lois suspiciously and smiles weakly.
On April 28, at the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy pushes Gio to register to vote in Port Charles so he can vote for Laura Collins, and against Sonny owning the piers. She suggests he read a website before he makes up his mind about how to vote regarding Sonny. Gio notes that Sonny needs those piers for his business, but Tracy says itโs not just coffee that is Sonnyโs business. Gio asks why sheโs going after Uncle Sonny like this. Tracy explains that sheโs lived here a long time and has seen what Sonny is capable of. Gio argues Uncle Sonny has done a lot of good, but Tracy says heโs a dangerous man. The people who get pulled into Sonnyโs world end up in prison or dead, and it would devastate her if that happened to him.
Later, Emma arrives, and Gio tells Tracy heโs hoping she can talk her out of her plans for Uncle Sonny.
On April 29, At the Quartermaine mansion, Gio asks what Sonny did to make Tracy want to hurt him. Tracy says Sonny has been a plague on this family for decades, and she presents โExhibit Aโ as Jason walks in. Tracy tells Jason that she was just about to fill Gio in on the pain that Sonny has brought upon this family. Jason asks what prompted this, and Gio explains that Tracy supports taking Sonnyโs piers from him. Emma asks Tracy not to do this, and to consider it a favor paid for her saving her familyโs crypt from Drew. Drewโs name sparks an idea for Tracy.
Back at the mansion, Gio and Emma are confused about Tracy working with Drew, whom she hates. Tracy canโt take the risk of Sonny hurting anyone else in this family. As she walks out, she tells Jason she knows heโs going to tell heartwarming stories about Sonny, so donโt leave out what he did to his brother, A.J.. Jason takes leave, and Emma decides to head out as well. Jason soon returns to answer Gioโs questions. Jason thinks itโs best for Gio to forget what Tracy said about AJ. Gio argues that if he wonโt tell him, heโll find someone who will. Jason explains that Sonny killed his brother. Gio doesnโt believe him. Jason explains that Sonny walked in on AJ attacking Ava Jerome, and shot him to protect Ava. He wasnโt there, and Sonny and the Quartermaines have different accounts of what happened. He chooses to believe Sonny.
Jason knows how Gio is feeling, and the Qs tried to turn him against Sonny, too, but he wouldnโt let them. Sonny has always been his friend, and heโs generous and supportive. Gio feels the same way about his Uncle. Jason says Gio needs to make his own decision about Sonny. Does he trust his instincts or listen to everyone else? Gio respects Tracy but has to trust his guy on Sonny. Jason assures him that Sonny will be okay, and heโs faced more challenging situations before. Plus, Tracy aligning herself with Drew means sheโs already lost.

On May 2, Gio and Emma attend a college party at King's Beach. They end up going swimming together in their underwear at the suggestion of Vaughn. Unbeknownst to them, this is just a distraction to allow Josslyn time to steal and corrupt Emma's flash drive with her extra credit assignment on it, in order to sabotage her chance of becoming Professor Dalton's research assistant.
After Danny Morgan finds Rocco passed out on the beach, he goes to Gio for help. Danny takes Gio to Rocco, who assesses the situation and wakes Rocco up again. Rocco seemed alert and aware, so they decided to get him home so he can sleep it off. Gio and Danny get Rocco to the Quartermaine Boathouse and Danny tells Gio he can leave if he wants, but Gio says he'll stick around. Danny goes to the main house for coffee, aspirin and water while Gio tends to Rocco. He turns him on his side and then looks for Rocco's phone, which is missing. Just as Gio is about to run back to the beach to look for Rocco's phone, Cody Bell arrives.
Dante blames Gio for Rocco's condition
Cody tells Gio that he came to check things out because the boathouse lights aren't normally on at night. Cody says Gio did good getting Rocco home safe, then he gets a blanket to cover Rocco and notices his breathing is irregular and they need to get him to the hospital right away. Cody and Gio get Rocco to the hospital where Dr. Park tells them that he has alcohol poisoning. Cody calls Dante, who rushes to the hospital with Lois and calls Lulu on the way. When Dante, Lulu, Lois and Carly arrive at the hospital, Cody tells them that they are pumping Rocco's stomach and Dante demands answers from Gio about the party.
Dante comes down hard on Gio and blames him for Rocco's condition. He accuses Gio of taking Rocco to the party. Gio defends himself and tells Dante he didn't know Danny and Rocco were even at the party until after Rocco was already drunk and Danny came to him for help. Dante berates Gio for making the wrong call and leaving his son in danger. Lois tries to defend Gio, but Dante doesn't want to hear it. Gio feels guilty for not realizing Rocco needed help sooner. After everyone gets the news that Rocco is going to be fine, Dante asks to speak to Gio privately again, but Lois comes along. Dante doesn't believe Gio and thinks he's only trying to cover his own ass. He accuses Gio of giving Rocco alcohol and exclaims he could have him arrested. Furious with Dante's attacks on Gio's character, Lois tells him to stop because he doesn't know who Gio really is.
Gio apologizes and tries to take responsibility for making the wrong call, but Dante continues to berate him until Gio can't take it anymore and leaves. Lois then tears into Dante for being unfair to Gio. Gio returns to the beach and meets up with Emma. He confides in her and tells her everything that happened. Gio is hurt that Dante seems to have such a low opinion of him. Emma does her best to reassure and comfort Gio. She thinks Dante will apologize once he calms down, but Gio isn't so sure. He thinks Dante does not respect him at all.

On May 12, Gio arrives to play the violin at the rehearsal space for the Nurses Ball, Brook Lynn and Maxie are working with Anna and Chase on their performance, dancing the tango and Gio apologizes for being late as he had a night. Gio fills them in on what happened with Rocco and Danny. The trio gets to work, and Brook Lynn apologizes to Maxie for asking her to choose between her and Lulu. Maxie accepts her apology and asks what made her let go of whatever Lulu did this time. Brook Lynn says she and Chase are starting the adoption process, which is forcing her to act like an adult. Maxie is glad it didnโt come to her having to choose, as she could and would never choose between them.
During a break, Emma shows up in tears and tells Gio that she didnโt get the job with Dalton. She doesnโt understand how her model got so screwed up. Gio suggests she show him the older version on her laptop, given that she wanted this so bad. She thinks it canโt hurt, and thanks him for the advice. Later, Gio plays as Chase and Anna dance, and Maxie tells Brook Lynn that her man has moves. Maxie thinks this will be the performance of the night. Later, Anna and Maxie take off, and Chase asks Brook Lynn to dance with him while Gio plays for them.
On May 13, Lulu shares her theory with Carly that Gio is Dante and Brook Lynn's son and says she has a way to prove it. On May 15, Gio claimed to Donna that he was born on June 4th.
On May 19, in the living room with the family, Jason and Brook Lynn arrive. Gio listens from the hall as Brook Lynn speaks about how tense itโs been around here, and Gio and Danny have been beating themselves up about what happened. Brook Lynn wants them all to try to move on. Suddenly, Gio interjects. He tells them all again how sorry he is, and he screwed up. He used bad judgment, he canโt change what happened, but heโll work hard to regain their trust. He walks out, and Lois follows him. In the foyer, Gio tells Lois that she and Brook Lynn need to stop making excuses for him. He knows she and the others took care of him when his mom died, but heโs not a little kid anymore and can stand on his own now. He also knows Dante doesnโt like him, and that wonโt change. Back in the living room, Ned was impressed by Gio. Jason takes off, and Brook Lynn hopes she didnโt make things worse for the kid. Olivia says she has a big heart, and Gio proved he can speak for himself.
Back in the foyer, Lois tells Gio that Dante needs time to cool down, but Gio doubts it. He can hear him in the living room and heโs probably trashing him to Olivia right now. He says there is no reason they need to be friends. Olivia walks out and tells Gio that she has something to say to him. Sheโs proud of him and swears her hot-headed son will come to his senses eventually. She thinks Dante just sees a lot of his younger self in Gio. Later, Lulu and Cody discover that Camilla was on tour with a quartet in New Zealand when she supposedly gave birth. She was no where near Los Angeles. Suddenly, Lulu gets a call back from Margaret, the quartetโs cellist. She explains that Camilla quit their tour without explanation in May 2003, causing them to cancel the tour. Lulu asks if she was having a rough pregnancy. The woman tells Lulu that Camilla wasnโt pregnant. A few moments after the call, Margaret texts Lulu a photo of herself and a very not-pregnant Camilla in New Zealand from the tour.
On May 20, Gio and Joss arrive at the The Nurses' Ball Red Carpet, and Nina says she canโt wait to see them perform tonight. Joss thanks Nina and says she knows they havenโt always agreed, but she feels sorry for Nina having to work with this piece of trash, looking at Drew. Nina thanks Joss and says she has her late grandmother Bobbie Spencerโs wit.
On May 21, Lucy brings Gio to the stage, and he performs โGlow,โ which is the actorโs own song. Later at the backstage, Lois tells Gio that was the best performance heโs ever given, and her phone is blowing up from the people back home watching him on TV. Gio says it felt like his mom was up there with him, and she would have loved the ball. Lulu interrupts to talk to Lois, but Lucy barges in and says they must clear this area for the magicianโs water tank, and she needs Loisโ help.
Out in the ballroom, Chase was blown away by Gio, and Brook Lynn hopes Danteโs mind has been changed about the young man. It takes discipline and hard work to play like that. Dante says he thought it was a great performance. Lulu connects with Cody and says she hasnโt been able to get Lois alone. However, the look on her face backstage and while watching Gio perform makes it clear that he is her grandson. After his performance, Brook Lynn and Dante congratulate him on a job well done.
On May 22, Gio is shocked when he overhears Lois and Lulu arguing about his true identity. He learns that he is Dante and Brook Lynn's son and leaves without them knowing he was there. Later, Emma finds him sitting alone in the Metro Court Gardens. She immediately can tell that something is wrong with him. Emma tells him that everyone has been looking for him because he was supposed to play the violin for Chase and Anna to dance the tango. But she reassures Gio that he doesn't have to play if he isn't feeling well. Gio recounts to Emma how his mother, Camila, taught him everything he knows about the violin and how it was all he had left of her. He has a far away look in his eyes as he tells her that the show must go on and walks away leaving Emma concerned.
Gio heads backstage where Lucy hands him a violin and tells him to hurry up on stage with Anna and Chase. The three head on stage and the performance begins until Gio stops playing to angrily "dedicate" the performance to his parents, Brook Lynn Quartermaine and Dante Falconeri, revealing his true parentage to everyone in the room. He assumes they knew the truth all along and just didn't want him, which left him angry and hurt. He violently smashes his violin to pieces before the shocked audience and walks off stage. Emma and Lois chase after him and a shocked and confused Brook Lynn follows. Meanwhile Cody takes Dante aside to share what he knows, while Chase talks with the equally shocked group of Ned, Olivia and Sonny.
Gio shares a moment with Tracy after they both learn they are related
Gio heads back to the Quartermaine mansion and packs a bag to leave. Emma finds him and reassures him that she's not there to stop him, but she's going with him wherever he goes. As they are heading out the door, Tracy comes home complaining about how she spent all night in lockup. She asks them what they are doing home and Gio confronts her, thinking she was in on the lie. Tracy tells him she has no clue what he is talking about, so he reveals the truth that he is her great-grandson and Brook Lynn and Dante are his parents. Tracy is shocked and wants the whole story, so she tells them not to leave.
Gio explains how he overheard Lois reveal the truth and tries to leave again. Tracy stops him once more and says he can't leave because he is her family. She shows him a photo of Edward and Lila and tells him that everything in the mansion belongs to him. She begs him not to push them away because the Quartermaines aren't perfect, but they are family. Gio, still feeling betrayed isn't feeling up to embracing family at the moment, because he feels they are all liars. As he turns to leave with Emma, Dante and Brook Lynn arrive stopping him.
Brook Lynn tries to explain but Gio wants nothing to do with them. When Dante touches his arm to try and get him to stay, Gio explodes and yells at Dante not to touch him. Brook Lynn quickly jumps in and tells Gio that Dante didn't even know she was pregnant. She also explains that she only gave him up, because she was so young and not ready to be a mother but she always loved him. Gio wants to know if she ever came looking for him and Brook Lynn explains that she didn't because she didn't want to uproot his life. The confrontation with his parents becomes too much for Gio and he angrily storms out of the mansion with Emma behind him.
Emma and Gio on the bridge at Lookout Point
Emma takes Gio to the bridge over Lookout Point, that was so special to her mother, Robin. She tells Gio that she sometimes comes to the bridge to think and Gio remarks that it's peaceful there. Gio continues to reel over the night's revelations and he's confused over who knew what and when. He doesn't know who to trust or who to believe. He wonders if Sonny knew the truth and if that's why he paid for his music school. Emma adds that it could be why, but she knows from her mother, that Sonny helps people whether they are family or not. Emma wants to know why Gio smashed his violin because she knows how important it is to him and he explains the violin was the biggest lie of all.
He tells Emma about how his adoptive mother Camila, was a virtuoso violinist and that is why he wanted to become one too. Then, when Camila died, playing the violin made him feel closer to her, but now he has to deal with the truth that Camila was not his biological mother. Gio tells Emma that she should go and he'll be fine but Emma insists she doesn't want to leave him alone. She asks him to let her stay and he exclaims he doesn't need a babysitter. Gio quickly apologizes because she has been so good to him and he shouldn't have raised his voice at her. Emma insists she can take it and she is there for whatever he needs.
Gio wishes he could just wake up from this nightmare and find a way to make sense of his new reality. Emma thinks that Brook Lynn and Dante were being honest about not knowing he was their son. Gio agrees about Dante not knowing because Dante was very honest about how he felt about him after Rocco got alcohol poisoning. Gio sadly says he always wanted to know what his father would think of him and now he knows - his father hates him. Emma reassures Gio that Dante does not hate him and regardless, he is not alone because there are so many people who care about him, including her. She offers to let Gio stay at her grandmother's place for a few days, but Gio doesn't want to impose.
Emma tells Gio "where you go, I go," reassuring him that she will stay by his side wherever he wants to go. Gio says the farther away he gets from Port Charles the better and Emma smiles and says "let's go." Emma and Gio stay the night at The Inn at Cascade Point in Niagara Falls. When Emma wakes up in the morning, Gio is gone and she is dismayed thinking he took off without her. But Gio comes back in the room a few moments later with breakfast. He tells Emma he would never take off on her because she is now the only person on Earth that he trusts.
They continue to talk about Gio's true parentage and the many people who had been calling and texting him since last night. Gio states that he is not interested in having fake relationships with any of them, just because they are now blood related. Emma also helps him come to terms with his feelings for Camila. Emma tells Gio that regardless of how he came into her life, Camila was his mom and she didn't lie to him about her feelings, she loved him as her son. Gio agreed and said Camila was his mom and Brook Lynn is just the woman who gave him away. Emma asks Gio where he wants to go next and at first, he only wants to get further away from town. But then he changes his mind because he needs answers and in order to get them, he must face his family.
Gio goes to see Sonny first for answers
On June 2, Gio stops by his paternal grandfather's house, seeking some answers. Sonny admits he had no knowledge of Gio being a relation, nor of Brook Lynn being pregnant. When Gio is confused as to why Sonny was always so nice to him, Sonny shares that he knew how special he was from the first moment Lois introduced them. He further explains that Lois is his oldest friend, and the Cerullos are family, so he helped him because that is what family does.
Sonny then informs him that Lois didn't know Dante was his son until after she coordinated putting him with Camilla. The truth about Dante came out much later. He can't defend Lois or her secrets, but it's also the very reason why he and Dante understand what Gio is going through. Sonny says it took time and work for him and Dante to become father and son, just like it may take him time to build a relationship with Dante.
Gio is convinced Dante doesn't like him, and that he made that clear after Rocco's alcohol poisoning. Sonny advises him not to make decisions in a rash state, and to take some time. Gio wants to know if his grandfather ever stopped hating Olivia for lying to him about Dante. Sonny assures his grandson that he never hated her, but he was angry with her, and it took time to get past that. However, he loves Olivia, and doesn't regret forgiving her. Sonny then tells Gio he is welcome here if he needs a place to stay. Gio thanks him and says he's going to decide on his own what to do next. He leaves and returns to the Quartermaine Mansion where he walks in on Brook Lynn, Lois and Gloria in the middle of an argument. Gio tells them that none of them are family to him and he is only there to grab the rest of his belongings before leaving.
Lois, Gloria and Brook Lynn plead their respective cases and try to get him to understand, but Gio doesn't want to hear it and believes that none of them wanted him. Brook Lynn angrily kicks Lois and Gloria out of the mansion. Afterward, she tries to get Gio to stay but he declines, letting her know he has no interest in having a relationship with her.
On June 4, it's revealed that Gio took Emma up on her offer and was staying at the Devane Apartment. He tells Emma that he is working as a lifeguard at the Metro Court Pool & Lounge this season after completing all of the lifeguard courses and training. Gio says he needs to make money because he can't stay with Emma and her grandmother forever, he will have to find a place of his own. Then, Gio notices his grandfather, Sonny and Mayor Laura Collins meeting at the pool. He approaches and accuses Sonny of spying on him - when Laura interjects that they're friends and she invited Sonny.
Suddenly, the irritating Councilman Ezra Boyle shows up with his phone and tells them to smile as he's live-streaming this to the people of Port Charles. He again notes that their illustrious mayor is meeting with Port Charles' very own mob boss. Meanwhile on the loungers, Emma is talking to her professor Henry Dalton. Gio approaches Emma and asks about Dalton. She tells him that he's the "famous Professor Dalton." She asks if he's watching her, and Gio confirms Dalton can't seem to take his eyes off her.
On the other side of the pool patio, Sonny tells Ezra he's in no mood, as Ezra reminds the audience watching to vote for him for mayor, and yes on Measure C! Suddenly, Gio "accidentally" knocks into Ezra while carrying a stack of towels. Ezra falls blundering into the pool, and Laura jokes with Sonny that she likes his new grandson.
On June 9, Rocco comes to find Gio at the pool. Gio apologizes for not answering any of Rocco's text, he's just had a hard time coping with everything. The two talk about the shock of finding out they are brothers, and how they have both always wanted a brother. Gio tells Rocco that finding out he's his brother is the best thing to come out of all the lies. Rocco tells Gio that he knows things are rough with Dante right now, but he offers to talk to their father again and explain once again what really happened at King's Beach. However Gio isn't interested in Dante's forgiveness just because they are now father and son. He also understands how Rocco loves Dante, but he doesn't want to talk about their father or listen to Rocco plead Dante's case. Rocco understands and backs off but wants to know if he and Gio can hang out more since they've always gotten along. Gio agreed and said they will see each other soon.
On June 17, Gio is visited by Lulu while on duty at the pool. She explains her part in the truth coming out, apologizes and shares everything that she knows. Gio thanks her for the truth and they come to an understanding. Gio is actually grateful to Lulu because he feels that if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't know who he really was.
Gio is next seen spending some time at Rice Park with Emma. They find a stray dog and while Emma looks for the owner, Sonny stops by to talk with Gio. At first, Gio thinks Sonny is there to convince him to talk with other members of his family, but instead Sonny says he wants Gio to play for the Corinthos Coffee team during the annual summer baseball competition. Gio agrees and both are looking forward to the game. Emma returns unable to find the owner of the dog and Anna also joins them. Emma plans to keep the dog and name him Outback.
Gio and Dante's first real talk as father and son
On June 25, Gio is back working at the pool and training Danny and Rocco as new pool attendants. Lulu was at the pool for Rocco's first day on the job. After Rocco and Danny finish their shift and go home, Lulu stays at the pool and runs into Dante. Dante approaches Gio and tells him that he got tickets to the PC Philharmonic Concert Series in the park. He invites Gio to attend with him, Rocco and Charlotte. Gio turns him down, saying music isn't really his thing right now. Dante tells him it's a subscription he got for everyone, so Gio can use it and go anytime, with or without him, and take anyone he wants. Gio thanks him and leaves.
After Gio's shift ends, he notices Lulu getting harassed by a drunk guy by the pool. He helps Lulu out and gets the guy away from her, but the drunk guy falls into the pool and Gio has to dive in and keep him from drowning. Lulu tosses in a floating device to help Gio with the rescue. Afterward, they sit by the pool and laugh about the day's events, from Rocco and Danny's first day to the craziness with the drunk guy. Unbeknownst to them, Brook Lynn was secretly watching them with tears and an upset look on her face.Crimes Committed[]
