Josslyn John Jacks is a fictional character on the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital. She is the daughter of Jasper Jacks and his ex-wife, Carly Corinthos.

She was conceived after her parents' renewed their vows and the pregnancy was a miracle due to Carly's previous miscarriages and the fact that her pregnancy with Josslyn was high risk.

She was born onscreen on November 3, 2009.

Josslyn first appeared as a teenager in her mother, Carly's dream on October 5, 2009 and was portrayed by Jamie Lea Willett.

Twins McKenna and Karleigh Larson portrayed Josslyn from her birth in November 2009 to June 21, 2012. Karleigh primary filmed the scenes as the twins are not identical.[13]

Sarah Johnson portrayed Josslyn from August 10, 2012 to April 2, 2013.[14]

Paige Olivier portrayed Josslyn for the Halloween episode in 2013.[15]

Hannah Nordberg portrayed Josslyn from on June 17, 2014 to February 23, 2015.[16][17]

She is currently being portrayed by Eden McCoy, who debuted on October 14, 2015.[18][19] It was also revealed that Josslyn has been aged. McCoy is now on contract.[20]

Josslyn's parents, Carly and Jax

Josslyn is the third child of Carly's that was successfully born and Jax's first living child.

On March 19, 2009, after renewing their vows, Carly and Jax conceive a child during their honeymoon. In April, Carly starts to show signs of being pregnant and goes to Dr. Kelly Lee and finds out that she might have a condition that can cause blood clots and strokes.

Carly puts off taking a test but eventually does with Jason's support and the test comes back positive. Carly has mixed emotions due to the possibility of a difficult pregnancy but ultimately decides she wants her baby. When Jax gets home from his trip he finds the pregnancy test and is elated to be having a child but Carly puts off telling him about her possible condition. Carly takes a blood test to check for the condition she could have and it is later confirmed that she does have the condition.

Later that day, Carly finds out that Jason is hurt and faints. While Carly is being checked out by Dr. Lee, Jax overhears that Carly is in danger because of her condition. Jax confronts Carly and tries to convince Carly to terminate the pregnancy but Carly convinces him to take a risk and they decide to keep the baby.

In June 2009, during a fight with Claudia Zacchara the pregnant women fall down a flight of stairs, but Carly and the baby turn out to be fine. In July 2009, Carly saves Claudia after a car accident, but the stress of that causes Carly to faint, but again her and the baby turn out to be fine.

After having a dream sequence, on October 5, about her unborn child, Carly decides to name her child Josslyn John.[21] On October 13, 2009, Carly goes into premature labor in the Jake's (now The Floating Rib) parking lot but Johnny Zacchara and Coleman Ratcliffe bring Carly to the hospital, where her doctor, Kelly Lee, states that if Carly gives birth naturally, then she and her unborn child would die. The labor was stopped and a date for a C-section was set.

In 2016, her brother, Morgan was killed in a car bombing.

Jax and Carly have shared custody of Josslyn and she goes to Australia to visit Jax quite often.

Through her mother's marriage, she gained mob boss, Sonny Corinthos as a stepfather but she still calls him uncle Sonny. Through Sonny, she also gained Molly Lansing-Davis and Spencer Cassadine as cousins.

On May 1, 2019, Josslyn's boyfriend, Oscar died in his sleep.

Joss with her parents

Josslyn was born onscreen November 3, 2009 to Carly Jacks with the help of Claudia Zacchara. On October 29, after being kidnapped and held hostage by Claudia Zacchara, Carly went into premature labor and gave birth to a baby girl in a cabin, on November 3, 2009. Claudia, who helped Carly give birth when Josslyn got stuck in the birth cannel, became obsessed with Josslyn and decided to kidnap her. Carly realized what Claudia intended to do and yelled for Claudia to give her daughter back, but she was too weak to stop her. Just as Claudia was about to leave Carly for dead and take her newborn daughter, Josslyn's older brother, Michael, enters and kills Claudia.

Seconds later, Sam McCall and Carly's friend, Jason Morgan arrive and take Carly and Josslyn to the hospital, where the two of them are reunited with Jax and he gets to meet his new daughter. Claudia's corpse was soon buried and the cabin was burned. Ironically, Josslyn and her attempted kidnapper, share the same birthdate.[22] Carly and Jax's marriage was troubled when Carly discovers Jax's participation in Michael's shooting, ultimately leading Carly to throw Jax out. Carly and Jax reconcile on Thanksgiving Day, 2009. While shopping for a christmas tree on December 21, 2009[23] with her mother, Josslyn's hat gets stolen by a madman named Franco, whose obsession with her godfather Jason Morgan, leads Franco to take Carly hostage on January 4, 2010[24], leaving Jax to find baby Josslyn alone in her crib with graffiti on it.

Josslyn's first Christmas

Josslyn was christened on January 29, 2010[25] with Jason Morgan and Lulu Spencer named godparents.[26] Following the christening, Carly separates from Jax and moves in with Jason after discovering that Jax had planned to frame Carly's ex-husband Sonny for Claudia's murder. The two renconcile later, but Jax's ex-wife Brenda Barrett comes back and creates problems for both of them. On November 16, 2010, Carly walks in on Jax's dangerous brother, Jerry Jacks, holding Josslyn. Jerry makes it clear he won't hurt Josslyn, but he won't have the same courtesy for Carly or Brenda. Eventually, Jax and Carly separate again. Jax later moves out so Carly will stay away from the mob violence, but ends up taking Josslyn with him when Carly will not steer clear of Sonny.

On March 21, 2011 Carly, Jax and Michael were stunned when Josslyn was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney cancer in both of her kidneys. Their only options where chemotherapy or organ donation and both Carly and Jax were opposed to chemotherapy. They did not want to expose young Josslyn to such poisonous chemicals at such a young age and were determined to find her a donor. A devastated Carly asks Jason, whose son Jake had just died due to a hit-and-run accident, if he would consider donating Jake's kidneys to Josslyn to save her life. Jason agreed to talk with Lucky and Elizabeth and when he approached Elizabeth at first she angrily refused, but after Jason talked with Lucky, Lucky talked with Elizabeth and convinvced her that this could make Jake's life meaningful.

Josslyn spends time with mom, Carly.

Eventually she came around and both Lucky and Elizabeth agreed to sign the papers for the organ donation. Josslyn was given Jake's kidneys and the transplant saved her life. Soon after Josslyn recovered, Jax and Carly filed for divorce. Then, Jax began his mission to obtain sole custody of her. However, Carly was only willing to share custody. Jax, afraid of Josslyn's life being in danger (because of Sonny and Jason), sued for sole custody. Carly and Jax met with their court-appointed mediator on July 6, and Carly lost her temper with the mediator because she accused Michael of being a danger to Josslyn. On July 19, Carly received full custody of Josslyn after Jax was arrested for assault and drug possession (after he was framed by Sonny).

Josslyn and Franco

On August 5, 2011, Jax breaks into Carly's house and kidnaps Josslyn. His car breaks down in-front of Robin Drake's house. Carly's friend, Shawn Butler, picks up Josslyn and takes her home. At the same time, Sonny shows up and pulls a gun on Jax. Sonny accidentally shoots Robin in the arm. While leaving town, Jax is presumed dead in a plane crash. It is then revealed he is alive. In October 2011, Josslyn goes to Hawaii with her mother and Shawn to warn Jason and Sam about Franco. She also falls asleep in Sam's arms.

Josslyn is sick

In June 2012, Josslyn spends time with Johnny. In August 2012, Ewen Keenan kidnapped Josslyn from her home on the orders of her criminal uncle Jerry Jacks and took her to Wyndemere where Jerry injected his niece with an unknown substance (revealed to be an inoculation against the dangerous pathogen her uncle Jerry would later release into the Port Charles water supply.) The injection caused Josslyn to spike an extremely high fever and she was admitted to General Hospital. She later recovered. In October, Josslyn goes trick or treating as an ear of corn.

Josslyn with Cameron and Emma

In April 2013, Josslyn gets to see her dad. In August 2013, Carly mentioned that Josslyn was in Australia with Jax and would be staying with him for a month. After spending Halloween in Port Charles, where she dressed as an ear of corn again, she went back to stay with Jax in Australia. On June 17, 2014, Josslyn is seen back with Carly and has since taken a disliking to Franco. She tells her mom that she overheard her father calling Franco a psycho and talking about all the bad stuff he's done. She kicks him the shin and steps on his foot and makes it clear that she doesn't want him living with them. Later on, while Franco is babysitting, she sneaks up on him with a crowbar.

She asks him where her mother is and he says that's good question. Josslyn thinks that Franco did something to her mom and wants to call 9-1-1 but he takes the phone and calls someone for help with Josslyn.

Joss and Cameron

Franco asks if she wants to watch her favorite movie Children of the Corn but she says no, at that moment Kiki shows up with a book of stickers from the movie Frozen, which she loves. The next day, Josslyn plays a prank on Franco and then goes to Lila's Kids Camp where she runs into her uncle Sonny and then Spencer. Later on, Spencer has her throw a water balloon at Britt to help her get Nikolas back and Joss gets a candy bar out of it. Josslyn doesn't like it when Spencer kisses her and pretends to move on with her. In September, before Josslyn goes back school she and Spencer decide to break up Cameron and Emma because she wants Cameron and Spencer wants Emma so they pretend to date. When Cameron arrives at Kelly's, Josslyn takes the opportunity to talk to him alone and Spencer is able to talk to Emma.

Josslyn ends up being the flower girl at her mother wedding which turns out to be a "not wedding" which makes Joss very happy. Josslyn is later seen at Spencer's birthday party, where she and Cameron start "dating" (but they have since broken up).

On October 14, 2015, Josslyn (McCoy) returns from Australia just in time to be the maid of honor at her mom's wedding to Sonny.

On February 22, 2016, Josslyn is seen with her mother at the Metro Court Hotel talking about how she knows what her uncle Sonny really does. Later on, back at Sonny's house she finds his empty gun box lying on the floor of his and her mother's bedroom.

Asking to observe Roxy

On March 30, Josslyn along with her mom and Avery go visit Morgan at the Freedman Clinic. On April 19, Carly brings Josslyn to the hospital for a rash on her face which is diagnosed as fifth disease by Dr. Hamilton Finn. Later on, Josslyn and her mother defend Finn to Dr. Liesl Obrecht and then they ask Finn if Josslyn can observe his bearded dragon, Roxy, and he says yes.

Michael comforts Josslyn after Morgan's death

In October 2016, Morgan was killed in a car bomb and Sonny and Carly had a lot of issues and planned to get a divorce. Eventually, Carly and Jax sleep together and as revenge, Sonny has Jax arrested for organ trafficking (Jax bought Nelle's kidney for Josslyn) and then Sonny has Jax deported and Joss is devastated. Little did Joss know that the woman whose kidney she received (Nelle) was starting to terrorize Carly and her family.

Josslyn yells at Sonny about Jax

In May 2017, Josslyn sings her actress, Eden McCoy's original song, "Not Over Yet" at The Nurses' Ball. In June, Josslyn had some friends over including Oscar, a guy she likes.

Joss sings

Josslyn and Oscar shared their first kiss on September 14, 2017.

At the 2018 Nurses' Ball, Joss and Oscar performed "I Never Knew" and in July, Joss is devastated when Carly is sent to Ferncliff. Nelle, who was pregnant with Michael's baby, falsely accused Carly of pushing her (Nelle) down the stairs. Carly is eventually freed, but Nelle later attempted to kill Michael and "miscarried" her baby. After escaping from police custody at GH, Joss caught Nelle at the docks and they began to fight. Joss defeated Nelle, who was then arrested again and this time sent to prison.

Joss beats Nelle...literally and figuratively

In fall 2018, after Oscar finds out he has an inoperable brain tumor, he breaks up with Joss but he doesn't tell her about the tumor. She is heartbroken and decides she needs to get him back. She makes a plan with Cameron that they can pretend to be together to make Oscar jealous. They begin to go to events together and they post pictures so that it will get Oscar's attention. Cameron eventually figures out what is going on with Oscar and he tells Joss. She confronts Oscar while he is working and he tells her everything. They get back together and Oscar begins his treatment. Later Dr. Terry Randolph tells Joss and Oscar's family that the treatment didn't work and there isn't anything else that she can do for him. Oscar and Joss try to complete as much of their bucket list together with the time they have left including going to The Catacombs. When they get to The Catacombs, Oscar has a seizure but they are rescued by Jason and Sam. They agree that they need to be more careful and then later decide that they want to go to Niagara Falls.

They also go with Trina and Cameron because Oscar cannot drive. They get to Niagara but not the falls because Cameron hits a pothole. They are forced to stay at a motel where Oscar has another seizure when he tries to sleep with Joss. They go to a hospital and Carly is there as well because Ryan Chamberlain left her in a ravine. She tells Joss that she is pregnant with Sonny's baby and Joss is shocked, but happy. They all come back to Port Charles. At Stone Canyon, Oscar gives Joss a watch so at 11:11 she will know he is thinking of her when he dies. They also put a lock on the bridge to seal their love. They then dance to the song he and Joss sang at the 2018 Nurses ball, and he has another seizure and is brought to GH. Oscar goes into a coma and they don't know if he will wake up or not. He does wake up but he is in a very bad condition and told he only has a few days left.

On April 29, 2019, (shown on May 1, 2019), Oscar died in his sleep. Joss decides not to sing at the Nurses Ball but she still wants everyone to go without her. Cameron stops by the Corinthos house to deliver the message that Oscar recorded for Joss before he died. The message tells her to play their song at the Nurses Ball and that she needs to move on and live her life. She plays her song with Oscar's ghost watching her and Cameron also plays a song that he wrote for Oscar. A day after the Nurses ball, Josslyn stops by Kim's apartment. Kim and Drew are there and Kim gives Joss Oscar's guitar and she begins to learn how to play it.

Joss begins to do journaling as a way of coping with losing Oscar and it was very helpful for her. When Dev moved in they had become good friends but Joss had eventually wanted more. She kissed him but he turned her down and said he was not interested like she thought he was. Her and Cameron also got drunk at their 2019 homecoming dance and almost kissed as well.

In 2020, Joss had decided to stop seriously journaling because she had gotten better at dealing with Oscar being gone. She also started to move on and expressed feelings of liking Cam. Josslyn, Cameron, and Trina performed for the 2020 Nurses Ball together. After the performance Josslyn was talking about Cam and was saying that he acts different around Trina. Trina then told Joss that they kissed after her dad died, but it didn't mean anything. On September 11, 2020, Joss said her goodbyes to Mike and imagined what life could have been like if he was able to stick around longer.
