Josslyn John Jacks is the first-born child of Jasper Jacks and Carly Corinthos Jacks. Conceived after their parents' remarriage, Carly's pregnancy was a miracle due to her previous miscarriages.

Storylines

Pregnancy and birth

On March 19, 2009, after renewing their vows, Carly and Jax conceive a child during their honeymoon. Upon discovering her pregnancy could cause her a stroke due to her past miscarriages, Carly avoids telling Jax. In April 2009, after being pushed down a flight of stairs by Claudia Zacchara, Carly confesses her woes to Jax, who ultimately urges her not to abort. After having a dream sequence about her unborn child, Carly decides to name her child Josslyn John. Six weeks before the baby's due date, Carly went in to pre-mature labour in Jake's parking lot but Johnny Zacchara and Coleman Ratcliffe bring Carly to the hospital, where her doctor, Kelly, states that if Carly gives birth naturally, then she and her unborn child would die. The labour was stopped and a date for a C-section was set.

After being kidnapped and held hostage by Claudia Zacchara in a cabin, Carly went into premature labor and gave birth to her child . Claudia, who had to help Carly give birth when Josslyn got stuck in a breech position, immediately became obsessed with Josslyn, and decided to kidnap her.  Carly realized what Claudia intended to do, and yelled for Claudia to give her daughter back, but she was too weak to stop her. Just as Claudia was about to leave Carly for dead and take her newborn daughter, Josslyn's older brother, Michael, enters and kills Claudia. Seconds later, Sam McCall and Carly's friend, Jason Morgan arrive and take Carly and Josslyn to the hospital, where the two of them are reunited with Jax and he gets to meet his new daughter. Claudia's corpse was soon buried and the cabin was burned. Ironically, Josslyn and her attempted kidnapper, share the same birthdate.
