Kirsten Storms is an American actress, known for portraying Maxie Jones on the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital.
Career[]
She is also known for her lead role in Disney Channel's original movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and her roles as Isabella "Belle" Black on NBC's soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Early life[]
Storms was born on April 8, 1984 in Orlando, Florida to Mike and Karen Storms. She has three siblings, a younger sister named Gretchen, an older brother named Austin and a step-brother named Chris. She was discovered when she was 5 years old by a talent scout who convinced her parents to put her into an intensive children's program in New York.
Storms appeared in several commercials and then landed her first role on ABC's Second Noah. She went on to star in several other television series and movies. Among those Disney Channel's original movies, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, Zenon: The Zequel, and Zenon: Z3.
Career[]
In 1999, Storms was cast in the role of Isabella "Belle" Black on the NBC/Peacock soap opera Days of Our Lives (1999-2004).
In 2005 she was cast in the role of Mariah Maximiliana Jones, daughter of supercouple Frisco Jones and Felicia Cummings on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She continues to play the role of Maxie to this day.
Personal life[]
Storms is very close friends with General Hospital co-star Kelly Monaco. They were both featured in the reality show Dirty Soap which debuted on September 25, 2011. She is also best friends with co-star Emme Rylan.
In 2011, Storms had to take a medical leave from General Hospital due to endometriosis. She was temporarily replaced by actress Jen Lilley from September 28, 2011 to August 10, 2012. Dirty Soap showed her dealing with the painful illness, and how her friends Kelly Monaco and Farah Fath tried to learn more about what she is going through and help her.
She secretly wed her former General Hospital co-star Brandon Barash in June 2013. On January 7, 2014, Brandon confirmed on Twitter that Kirsten had given birth to a baby girl, Harper Rose Barash.[1] Harper briefly played Storms' on-screen daughter, Georgie.
On April 6, 2016, Soap Opera Digest broke the news that Brandon and Kirsten have filed for divorce after more than 2 and half years of marriage citing irreconcilable differences but they will raise their daughter together as they are splitting amicably.[2]
On May 30, 2017, Storms revealed on Instagram that she has a boyfriend,[3][4] Wes.[5]
On July 7, 2025, Storms revealed she is done filming as Maxie Jones for the year as she is moving from LA to Tennessee.[6] Her final episode prior to her hiatus aired on August 25, 2025. Storms did not remain under contract during her extended absence.[7]
On October 13, 2025, it was announced on social media that Storms and Emme Rylan have started their own crocheting business, Kristen and Emme, where they sell crocheted sweaters that they've designed together. The first is a line called "Kickin It."
On October 14, 2025, Storms revealed she will undergo brain surgery in the coming weeks to treat an aneurysm.[8]
