Lexi Ainsworth is an American actress, known for portraying Kristina Corinthos-Davis on General Hospital.
Personal life and career[]
Ainsworth was born on October 28, 1992, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At age 6, she began dancing on stage at the local ballet company.
This led her to appear in several theater productions, such as The Wizard of Oz (playing a munchkin) and To Kill A Mockingbird (portraying Scout). However, it was after attending a film camp in New York that Lexi developed an interest in film and television acting. She then headed to Los Angeles where she enrolled in an acting camp program. A talent agency noticed Ainsworth, and they sent her out to audition for her first national commercial, subsequently for Barbie dolls.
After shooting various commercials, Ainsworth acquired a role in the short film Caroline Crossing, and soon after, she portrayed Grace Budd in the film The Gray Man.[1]
In June 2009, Ainsworth joined the cast of General Hospital as Kristina Corinthos-Davis. Her scenes were from June 24, 2009 to November 4, 2011. She was replaced by Lindsey Morgan, who stepped into the role on May 25, 2012 but left on March 4, 2013.
During her time as Kristina, Ainsworth was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in 2011 for her abuse storyline.
On July 29, 2015, Soap Opera Digest broke news that Ainsworth would reprise the role of Kristina, set to appear sometime in late August or early September 2015.[2] She reprised the role on September 17, 2015.[3][4]
In 2017, she brought home her first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress for her gay/bisexual storyline.
On May 4, 2023, it was announced that she left her role of Kristina Corinthos-Davis on April 27, 2023 in order to pursue other career opportunities. She was replaced by former Days of Our Lives Alum Kate Mansi, who will step into the role during the week of May 22, 2023.
