Marriage of "con"venience (2012)

On May 25, 2012 Kristina Corinthos-Davis returned to town to confront her parents about how she really got into Yale. Enraged, she told them about her fellow students finding out she got in through her parents' money, and teasingly calling her "Mob Princess".

On May 30, 2012, Kristina both shocked and angered the family when she allowed cameras into her mothers' home against both her parents' wishes for her new reality show entitled Mob Princess, about the family's drama.

Trey Mitchell comes to town in June 2012 as the producer. He immediately clashes with Kristina's parents, Sonny Corinthos and Alexis Davis, who believe he is exploiting Kristina. The premise of the show is to provide an intimate look into the lives of Kristina and her family, particularly her father and his relationship with Kristina. Alexis threatens to sue Trey over the show, but Kristina uses emotional blackmail to get her parents' consent.

Kristina has a crush on Trey, who is aware of her crush and uses it to easily manipulate her. While Kristina pushes hard for Trey to see her in a romantic light, Trey seems to have no interest in her beyond using her to get to Sonny. He constantly begs her to take trips to her father's home and warehouse. Even flaunting around a bikini trying to entice him to go swimming with her did not falter his interest in the mob. When she kisses him at the Haunted Star, he feels nothing and tells her they should focus only on the show.

Kristina began feeling conflicted about the production of the show when Trey ordered the cameramen to film Kristina in the hospital with her grieving sister Sam McCall after the "death" of her son, but upon Alexis calling her a brat decided to continue with the show.

While Kristina is home she discovers Molly Lansing-Davis is now dating a boy named T.J. Ashford, when she and her crew catch them on camera on the Fourth of July. Though confrontational at first, Kristina gets protective of her little sister, telling the crew to erase the footage of Molly and tries to hide Molly and T.J.'s relationship from Alexis. She then stands by her little sister as they argue with Alexis over Molly's right to date.

Trey and Kristina often argue about the direction of the show. Kristina did not want Connie Falconeri involved, while Trey wanted to air Connie's legal battle, and admission that she suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Trey also wanted to include the perspectives of his roommate Starr Manning; since it was her boyfriend and child that had been killed; and Johnny Zacchara; since he had been a suspect before the confession. Kristina argued that the show should be centered around her.

In July 2012. Trey is seen making a phone call to his father, who is funding the reality show production. When Joe Scully, Jr. is arrested for murdering John McBain's sister, Theresa and raping Connie, Trey goes to visit him in jail, where it's revealed that Joe Jr. is Trey's father, via Connie. Joe Jr. asks Trey to help him take down Sonny using Kristina. Trey returns to Port Charles and tells Kristina he is scrapping the reality show so they can be together. After revealing her past with Kiefer Bauer, Kristina agrees to go out with him. Despite warnings from her parents and older sister, she refuses to see Trey's faults and acknowledge his secrecy.

Trey tells Kristina his father needs their help. He put all his money into the project and if they do not deliver 10 shows and a wedding he will be sued. Kristina believes his lies and decides to head to Las Vegas and marry Trey. They are followed by Kristina's brother, Michael Corinthos and his then-girlfriend (Trey's roommate, Starr), and they try to tell Kristina about Trey's misdeeds, but Trey tells them that he made it up as a storyline for the show. After returning to Port Charles, Kristina tells her parents about her marriage to Trey. They are livid and though Kristina admits they've already consummated the marriage, but she assures them both she plans to get the marriage annulled.

Trey finally comes clean with her and reveals that his father is Joe Scully, Jr., Sonny's nemesis. Joe kidnaps Kristina on the day of Sonny and Connie's wedding, holding her hostage at gunpoint in her father's warehouse. He threatens to kill her with the nonsensical idea that Trey will then inherit all of Sonny's money. She is saved, however, when Trey locates her just in time, though Joe escapes with a gunshot wound. Though she acknowledges that Trey saved her life, she is still hurt by his lies and decides she will go through with the annulment after all.
