Murphy Sinclair first appeared on August 13, 2010. He was a famous actor who was living in Rome and engaged to Brenda Barrett. After Brenda met with Sonny Corinthos, she revealed that she had been dating Murphy. Sonny was disappointed, but respected Brenda's decision. Murphy was last seen on September 23, 2010 when Brenda ended their engagement and returned to Port Charles.
