New York City is a real city in New York, in which a fictionalized version is the site of several storylines featured on General Hospital.

Storylines

In 1992, Robert Scorpio, Luke Spencer, and Jackie Templeton go to the city to search for David Grey and investigate Jackie's sister Laura Templeton's disappearance.

In 1995, Ned Quartermaine and Lois got married there, with many friends joining them for a trip to the city and celebrating their wedding.

In 1999, Lucky Spencer and Elizabeth Webber go to New York City to drop off an application in-person to an art school Elizabeth was interested in attending. They stay at classes all day and miss the bus home. To pass the time, they visit a photo booth, buy pretzels to share and play hop scotch in the street before getting a hotel for the night. Lucky offers the bed to Elizabeth and tells her that he will sleep on the floor. Elizabeth ends up getting on the floor with Lucky and they hold each other all night while they sleep.

On October 27, 2022, Rory Cabrera gets a hotel in New York City after the "New York Comic-Kaze" convention and is upset to find out there is only one bed in room #904. He calls the front desk and as there are no more rooms available because of the convention, he arranges for a cot to be brought up. Rory and Trina Robinson kiss in the bed and she fantasizes that Spencer Cassadine is kissing her. She stops Rory right before there is a knock on the door as the cot has arrived. Rory offers the bed to Trina and sleeps on the cot next to the bed. Trina falls asleep and misses Spencer's phone call from prison.

On August 3, 2023, Olivia Quartermaine regales her amnesiac husband Ned - now going by his former rockstar alias Eddie Maine - with stories about her and his ex-wife Lois Cerullo's wild days as partying teenagers in New York and befriending bouncers to get into all the good clubs. She admits to missing it somewhat, but gave it up to raise her son Dante Falconeri, which she wouldn't give up for the world. She lists: The Peppermint Lounge, Private Eyes, Hurrah, Area, Studio 54, and Xenon.

The weekend of September 28th, 2023, Spencer Cassadine and Trina spend a long romantic weekend in the city. Spencer wants to show her his favorite pizza place near Central Park. He'll make all the arrangements so they will have uninterrupted time together. On their way out, Spencer reveals he has a fantastic weekend planned: tickets for the Broadway musical Moulin Rouge and reservations at the extremely popular and always booked Essence.

On Friday 29, Spencer and Trina arrive at hotel room #192 in New York City. Spencer returns from his errands, telling Trina that everything is running on schedule, but it's a surprise. They discuss what she wants to do and she mentions all the museums. Room service arrives with champagne, caviar, fruit, and charcuterie. Spencer toasts to the woman he loves, and she toasts to the two of them. They ready for dinner, Spencer in a blue suit, and Trina in a beautiful fuchsia dress. He declares her beautiful and presents her with a necklace as a gift to remember this weekend.

After the musical, they sit down to dinner, where Trina can't stop gushing about the performance. Spencer is happy to see her so happy, and Trina thanks Spencer for the beautiful night, admitting that she's very much in love with him. Spencer gushes over her admission, sharing that he's loved her since the day he met her. After a montage of their relationship, Spencer promises the best is yet to come. They decide to skip dessert and return to their room, where a romantic setup is prepared. They kiss, make their way to the bed, undress, and make love. In the afterglow, Spencer and Trina cuddle and think how amazing that was. Spencer tells her that he's the happiest when he's with her, and they kiss.
