The Pikeman Security Group was a fictional global security organization on the ABC soap opera General Hospital.
Background[]
On December 1, 2022, Valentin Cassadine visits Sonny Corinthos with a business proposal. Valentin says he is there as an intermediary for a third party, the Pikeman Security Group and asks if Sonny is familiar with them. Sonny says he is and they do munitions and mercenary operations.
Valentin says Pikeman is interested in moving certain classified merchandise through Port Charles without the interference of government or law enforcement. They feel that Sonny's facilities would be ideal for their purposes. Sonny wants to know what he gets out of the deal. Valentin says that for every successful shipment, Pikeman is willing to pay Sonny ten million dollars.
Sonny thinks this is too good to be true. Valentin says it is risky and the reward should be substantial. Sonny asks what is in it for Valentin. He replies that he worked for Pikeman on several occasions as a logistics contractor. It was their idea to use Valentin as an intermediary. He would be doing them a favor and hoping they will return it. Valentin says the favor has nothing to do with Sonny but it is in his best interest to accept the offer.
Valentin clarifies that he isn't threatening Sonny. If Sonny doesn't take the job, they will pick someone else. Sonny thinks they will also pick another city but Valentin says they want Port Charles as it is a shipping hub with access to both Atlantic and Canadian shipping lanes. Pikeman will be moving their merchandise through Port Charles no matter what. Now that Sonny knows their plan, that makes him a problem they will want to remove. As Sonny has been in power a long time, they want to use him but he will become a liability and make a powerful enemy if he refuses. Valentin tells Sonny to make a decision quick as they are not known for their patience. After Valentin leaves, Sonny calls Brick and asks him to get him as much information as he can on Pikeman Security Group as soon as he can.
Per Valentin on May 12, 2023, Pikeman's main client is the US military. They send arms to small countries who need to defend themselves against hostile larger countries.
Storyline[]
On December 5, Sonny tells Dex Heller that he has an offer to use his facilities for some unofficial exports. He tells Dex he has a role for him with more responsibility. Dex says he is up for it.
On December 9, Sonny gives Dex a gun and tells him that he set up a meeting with a third party and he wants Dex to come with as security. Dex probably won't have to use the gun but Sonny doesn't trust the go-between who the contractors chose and wants to be prepared.
On December 27, Sonny and Dex meet a Metro Court suite with Roman Hume, the ex-military representative for Pikeman. Sonny says he doesn't negotiate and Roman must follow his rules. Roman says there is always room for negotiation and he acknowledges that the Corinthos organization holds the ports. Pikeman just wants to ship their goods. Their biggest concern is discretion. Sonny says he doesn't want any blowback or anything to happen to innocent civilians. Roman opens a suitcase of cash and gives it to Sonny before leaving.
Dex says he is surprised Roman is ex-military. Sonny asks how he knows and Dex says he can tell. Sonny says Pikeman does private military contracting and thinks they might be promoting from within. Dex recognizes the name Pikeman. He tells Sonny they encountered a lot of private contractors in the service and knew to steer clear of them. Sonny says it is under control and there's a huge payoff.
On December 30, Dex secretly meets with his "boss" Michael Corinthos (Sonny's estranged son), to tell him about the Pikeman deal and says Sonny will regret it. He mentions the recent meeting with a representative from Pikeman. Michael also recognizes Pikeman as military contractors who do weapon design, manufacturing, logistics, and private squads of soldiers. He asks what they want with Sonny. Dex says they want to move their product through Port Charles and they want Sonny to facilitate. Michael is shocked to hear Pikeman is paying Sonny to help them smuggle military weapons. He says that is as illegal as it gets. Dex tells Michael the Pikeman rep Hume gave Sonny a suitcase of cash just for showing up at the meeting. Michael questions that Sonny draws the line on moving drugs but weapons are fine. Dex suggests Pikeman want to secretly ship because the weapons are dirty or the people are. Michael says it is both and this is how they bring Sonny down. Dex warns Michael that Pikeman had contractors in Afghanistan and he should think twice before getting involved. Michael says he wants every detail of Sonny and Pikeman's involvement. Dex says if Sonny is convicted he will be in prison for a long time. Michael is fine with that as torturing Dex is a new low and after running weapons he wants Sonny nowhere near his family.
On February 13, 2023, Sonny tells Dex that the next Pikeman shipment is in two weeks. Dex later meets with Michael at GH and tells him.
Later Sonny calls Brick to find out who Pikeman are really dealing with.
On February 23, Josslyn Jacks (Michael's sister) overhears her boyfriend Dex talking to Tony DiMarco about the Pikeman shipment. When the merchandise arrives at Pier 55, they will need trucks to deliver it to the warehouse. After storing it for 48 hours they will deliver it to Pikeman's buyers. As it is heavy ordinance they will need six trucks and need to make sure the mechanics check them in advance. If anything breaks down they are all doing federal time. Josslyn asks what Pikeman is and how Dex could end up in prison. He admits the whole plot about bringing Sonny down but won't tell Josslyn who hired him until he is done. He says it is up to her whether he continues his plan of locking Sonny up or not.
Later at Pozzulo's, Dex bonds with Sonny over an Italian meal he made with Gloria Cerullo's recipe card and Sonny reminisces over living in the Bensonhurst neighborhood with her. Frank comes in with Pikeman news and Dex is surprised that he is left out of the meeting when Sonny closes the office door on him.
Sonny admits to Dex that he didn't want him knowing too much and the deal. He goes with Dex to scout a warehouse for the upcoming Pikeman shipment and they are ambushed by a sniper. Dex pushes Sonny out of the way and is shot in the arm as Sonny goes to join who arrived to help. Sonny shoots the sniper and wants to find out who he is working for as he is still alive.
In April, Sonny and Brick meet Roman in a warehouse. Dex is also there having planted a video camera earlier to record everything. Roman reveals the crate has deadly plastic explosives. After the meeting, Dex removes the camera and sends the footage to Michael.
In May, Michael tells his wife Willow Tait about the footage and she doesn't want him to turn it in to the Feds.
In June, Michael gives his mother, Carly Spencer, the footage on a thumb drive and she figures out he hired Dex to bring down her ex-husband, Sonny.
On June 7, Roman texts Valentin the message "Call. Urgent." Valentin goes to Sonny's office and tells him that he just got off the phone with Roman. Pikeman is making arrangements for the second shipment they talked about. Sonny who wants to know who the threat is against them before continuing the shipment. Valentin thinks Pikeman don't know who hired the sniper and are keeping quiet as that isn't a good look for them.
Mason Gatlin wants Ava Jerome (mother of Sonny's daughter Avery Jerome-Corinthos) to learn more about Sonny's association with Pikeman.
Carly fights with Josslyn and steps on the thumb drive. Later Josslyn gives Dex the broken drive which he says he will destroy.
On August 8, after Special Agent Anna Devane pieces together that the WSB and Pikeman are in cahoots and are behind her shooting. Valentin shows up and she questions him on what he knows about the security company and and its WSB connections. Valentin swears he isn't working for them, but years ago he consulted on their projects while at the bureau. He says Pikeman came to him now because they know him, and that he has an acquaintance of Sonny. Anna thinks they specifically chose him, he shares that he was asked and agreed to be an intermediary. She wonders why, he must have noted that it screams illegal activities.
Valentin knew whatever was going on likely was not legal, but at the time he was hoping the company could help him bring down his father. He reveals Pikeman is connected to the WSB. He doesn't know how far the association goes, but he was at the WSB when Pikeman first recruited him, as agents were often recruited to Pikeman upon leaving the agency - and agents often moved back and forth between the two. Valentin confirms this was around the time Victor Cassadine was bureau director. Anna believes she was the target for the WSB and Pikeman working together, and refuses to be a sitting duck. She asks if there is anything else he knows then he should tell her before they take another shot at her. Valentin swears he's told her everything, and he never meant to put her in danger. Anna believes there is still a missing piece and leaves to find it.
On August 15, Sonny and Ava arrange for Avery's nanny Betty Rutherford to steal fake Pikeman information. On Sonny's office computer, Betty finds a folder on Pikeman with a file of shipment schedules, and copies it to a flash drive. Betty was then sent to Mexico after it is discovered the information is false.
On August 22, Austin Gatlin-Holt is also working for Mason's boss, who is interested in Sonny's connection to Pikeman, and revealed to be Cyrus Renault.
On September 1, Sonny is arrested by the F.B.I. for planting the fake evidence Betty found.
On September 11, the charges against Sonny are dropped and he is freed. Sonny later admits to Dex that the Pikeman crates contained coffee, not weapons.
On September 19, Hume meets with Sonny who is thankful that his charges were dropped. Hume hands Sonny a briefcase full of cash to apologize but Sonny thinks it's for another deal. Hume insists it's a peace offering for Sonny's trouble but Sonny is not interested and says he has questions about Pikeman while he was in custody. He thinks they were responsible but Hume says Pikeman isn't that careless. Sonny tells him to find the leak and Hume leaves.
Sonny asks Dex what he thinks. Dex says Pikeman has legit contracts but they also have a rogue offshoot. He notes that Hume seemed surprised when Sonny mentioned a mole. Dex doesn't think Pikeman would jeopardize their deal just to leak it to the Feds. Dex also doubts it was one of Sonny's men.
Sonny figures the feds busted him on the false information he planted but isn't sure if they also knew about his deals with Pikeman. Dex asks Sonny to cut ties with Pikeman but Sonny says they will just refuse and he has to figure out how to move forward.
On November 30, Dex tells Sonny they heard from Pikeman as Hume had walked into the Metro Court Restaurant and asked to see Sonny. Dex sent Hume away quickly but he said to give Sonny a message that he needs to see him and will meet wherever Sonny wants.
On December 1, having recently arrived in town, Jack Brennan is is approached by Roman on the way out the door at Kelly's, telling him that they have a problem -- Sonny Corinthos will no longer move their merchandise, thus revealing Brennan as the head of Pikeman Security Group.
On December 19, Brennan tries to grab Carly and he and Hume are arrested at Kelly's.
On March 26, 2024, it was revealed that Jason Morgan was being blackmailed by F.B.I. Special Agent John Cates into going deep undercover as a private military contractor to infiltrate Pikeman under the alias "Alan Jacobs".
On March 29, it was revealed that Valentin has been running Pikeman since Brennan was arrested for his crimes. It was also revealed that Valentin has manipulated Sonny into believing that he was being targeted by a ghost named "Stone" and he himself has been working to take Sonny down.
On April 11, Valentin revealed to Anna that he first started working for Pikeman in the 90s.
On April 11, 2024, while having a lunch date, Anna asks Valentin if he remembers Jack Brennan from their academy days. She remembers they were always "feeding off each other. You were just pushing each other to be better, to be smarter." Valentin, secretly trying to cover his connection to Jack, insists she is remembering someone else.
On April 29, Valentin meets Brennan in the warden's Pentonville office and they talk about how Pikeman was first funded by Brennan with the stolen money in the 80s blown op. They plot to kill Jason and blame it on Sonny and suspect Jason is working with a government agency.
On May 8, Jack is surprised by a visit from Carly Spencer at Pentonville Penitentiary. He makes it clear he's still very attracted to her, and she attempts to hide that it's mutual. He asks her about her life, she shares a few details before confronting him about his supposed attempt to kidnap her. He quickly covers, claiming that since he was a spy he carried covert supplies. They discuss Pikeman, and Carly reveals the FBI is investigating him - she knows because Agent Cates is a friend. Before she leaves, Jack asks to see her again, stating "Watch your back, Valentin" as she walks out. Following this visit, Carly comes to see him several times, sharing information and becoming more and more friendly with each other.
On July 17, after turning in evidence that Valentin is the head of the security group, Anna, wanting to protect him and Charlotte, rushes to his house and urges him and his daughter to run. She can't go with him - and doesn't understand why he built a good life here to risk it all for Pikeman. What happened?
Valentin tells her, "You did." He shares that he's always been involved with Pikeman, and it started with the mission she and Brennan were involved in with Jameson Forsyth, the defector. He and Jack took Forsyth's money to set up Pikeman. He resigned from the WSB, but still did contract work for the security group. Years later, Anna busts Brennan, and Valentin believed he was out of reasons to be good. She wished he had opened up to her and trusted her.
On July 30, the feds take down Pikeman, and Jack Brennan is suddenly freed, with all traces of his arrests and incarceration vanished.
"The WSB had to divorce themselves from Pikeman, so they let the FBI take group down, and you and the WSB walked away clean."
Brennan, now the DC Agent-in-Charge just shrugs his shoulders. Anna points out he is walking around a free man, and Valentin Cassadine, his scapegoat for Pikeman, is lounging on a beach somewhere safe. Brennan admits she's right, but none of this will ever be made public.
