Lucy Coe holds a crossbow to Caleb Morley while Sam McCall is held hostage. (2013)
Port Charles Revisited served as a continuation of the narrative established from its origin soap, Port Charles. In 2013, when several former characters and actors from Port Charles made their return to General Hospital, head writer Ron Carlivati chose to revisit the vampire storyline from Port Charles as a way to pay tribute.
Storyline[]
Lucy Coe made her return to Port Charles in January 2013 after nearly ten years away. Upon her arrival, she encountered Detective John McBain, whom she mistakenly identified as "Caleb Morley". At that moment, he was in the company of Sam McCall, whom Lucy confused for Livvie Locke. Unaware of Lucy's identity, they attempted to distance themselves from her. Subsequently, Lucy attacked John, believing she was defending Livvie from Caleb, resulting in John's injury. In a misguided attempt to protect Livvie from what she believed to be Caleb, Lucy assaulted John, resulting in his injury and her subsequent arrest. While she was incarcerated, Duke Lavery visited her, and Lucy mistakenly identified him as the vampire Joshua Temple. Ultimately, she was committed to Ferncliff Asylum after being deemed insane. Following her return, Kevin Collins also came back to Port Charles, revealing that Lucy had suffered from delusions in the past, convinced that the town was overrun with vampires. This situation contributed to his decision to leave her for the sake of their childrenโs welfare.
Alison Barrington later returns alongside her teenage son, Rafe Kovich Jr. whom she had been pregnant with at the conclusion of Port Charles. Unfortunately, she meets a tragic fate at the hands of Caleb, Rafe's biological father, who uses a silver arrow or spear that Alison had previously given to Rafe. John McBain arrives shortly after the incident and takes Rafe to the PCPD for processing and booking. Rafe asserts his innocence, claiming he did not murder his mother, and initially implicates McBain as the perpetrator when Police Commissioner Anna Devane inquires about the identity of his mother's killer. The murder weapon is subjected to fingerprint analysis, revealing that the prints of Alison, Rafe, and "John" are present on the weapon.
John begins to entertain the notion that there may be someone who resembles him and resolves to collaborate with Rafe in an effort to uncover the identity of the true murderer. Concurrently, Caleb is seen returning to the location of the crime. Lucy manages to flee from Ferncliff alongside Todd Manning and Heather Webber, subsequently making her way to Wyndemere Castle. After persuading Lucy to take a rest, Todd and Heather depart. Lucy is later roused by Caleb, an encounter that may be a figment of her imagination. Caleb then approaches the jail cell where Rafe is detained and, with the assistance of a guard, transports him back to the crime scene. Caleb intends to reconstruct the events of the crime with the aim of eliminating the guard. Following this, he attempts to escape with his son, but Rafe resists and manages to flee.

Article about Stephen Clay
Caleb travels to Port Charles University, where he murders Professor Jay Mosser after the professor divulges details about Caleb's ring to John McBain. As Caleb prepares to depart, Sam arrives outside the office and attempts to enter. Recognizing her, Caleb decides to wait for her entry. However, when Mosser's assistant appears, Caleb makes a hasty exit through the window. He then proceeds to the pier, where he encounters Heather and Danny Morgan. Mistaking Caleb for John, Heather engages with him, while Caleb realizes that Danny is Sam's son, although Heather insists he belongs to her. Caleb devises a plan to use Danny to manipulate Sam[1], leading him to choke Heather before throwing her into the water. He attempts to leave with Danny, but Todd intervenes, mistaking Caleb for John as well. Caleb instructs Todd to step aside, but Todd remains resolute. The police arrive shortly thereafter, allowing Caleb to escape.
Anna and Sam arrive at the scene, with Sam retrieving Danny. Anna detains Todd, who insists on his innocence. After the police leave, Sam is left alone with Danny. Caleb approaches her, attempting to impersonate John, but Sam sees through his ruse, recognizing him as Caleb, and demands that he leave her alone. Nevertheless, Caleb continues to assert that they are meant to be together, capturing both Sam and Danny. Meanwhile, John, Lucy, and Rafe manage to escape from the PCPD with the help of Molly Lansing-Davis and make their way to PCU in search of information. In recounting Caleb's background, John reveals that the supposed immortality ring Caleb wears is from an ancient Roman lineage known as the Morleys. Stephen Clay, a musician with a vampire alter ego named Caleb Morley, descended into madness after the death of his wife, Livvie Locke in 2003. He proclaimed himself immortal and began to believe he was a vampire, using scissors and prosthetic fangs to simulate bites. After committing seven murders, Clay was institutionalized, vowing to reunite with Livvie, who bore a striking resemblance to Sam McCall. Despite the revelation that Caleb appeared to be merely human, Anna discloses that Caleb inexplicably vanished from a secure room in the institution at midnight on Halloween.

Caleb kidnaps Sam, thinking she's "Livvie"
Caleb brings Sam and Danny to Wyndemere, placing Sam on the couch while Danny remains in the stroller. Meanwhile, Lucy, John, and Rafe arrive at the mansion, inadvertently exposing their presence. Caleb then takes Sam into a closet and subsequently leads him into the tunnels beneath the estate. Rafe takes charge of Danny, while John and Lucy set out to locate Caleb. John discovers Caleb with Sam on a table resembling a bed, having bitten Sam three times, a process Caleb claims is necessary to restore Sam's memory as Livvie Locke. Caleb restrains John and grips Lucy by the throat, but Sam manages to divert his attention by calling out his name. In the ensuing struggle, John seizes the opportunity to wrest the silver arrow from Caleb and ultimately stabs him with it. Caleb shows no signs of life, and McBain reveals that the fangs he removed from Caleb's mouth were artificial. McBain then escorts Sam upstairs to the living room. Lucy remains behind, pondering the circumstances of Caleb's death, but as she departs, Caleb's immortality ring begins to emit a glow.
Lucy, John, and Rafe return to the Port Charles Police Department and are subsequently released when Mayor Janice Lomax and the District Attorney decide to portray the trio as heroes, informing the media that their actions were in alignment with the Police Department's directives. Following this, Lucy and Anna visit the morgue to examine Caleb's body, where Lucy notices that his immortality ring is missing, and the medical examiner claims to have no knowledge of it. After Lucy and Anna depart, the examiner is later seen retrieving the ring from his pocket, and upon wearing it, it becomes evident that the corpse on the table is his. Meanwhile, Caleb, who remains alive and is only seen from behind, exits the room, leaving his true nature as an immortal being ambiguous.
Trivia[]
- When the Port Charles narrative was revisited on General Hospital, it was revealed that only Caleb Morley, Lucy Coe, and Alison Barrington retained memories of the supernatural occurrences from the spinoff series. Kevin Collins did not recall any vampires in the town or his daughter, Livvie Locke. The rationale behind the selective memory of these events was never thoroughly explained, although Kevin suggested it could be attributed to a "shared delusion." Lucy theorized that Caleb's powers had grown to such an extent he enchanted the world, leading everyone to forget about the existence of vampires.
