Richard Culliton is a former head writer for the ABC soap opera General Hospital and its spinoff Port Charles. After Robert Guza, Jr. left, Culliton joined General Hospital as co-head writer with Karen Harris in September 1996. Harris left in December 1996, making Culliton the sole head writer until May 1997. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his work on GH. At ABC Daytime's request, he co-created the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles with his wife Carolyn Culliton and Wendy Riche. The Cullitons initially served as head writers for the show's early months.
