Richard Sheridan is a fictional character in the ABC daytime drama General Hospital. He has been portrayed by David Jahn on October 21-22, 2021. He returned from December 23-29, 2021. Jahn was previously on GH in 2008.

Background

On October 20, 2021, Michael Corinthos tells someone on the phone that he needs Mr. Richard Sheridan to get back to him as soon as possible regarding his family’s donation to Sheridan’s campaign. Willow Tait overhears and asks Michael what donation it is for. Michael says it is good business to donate to politicians across the country. It may not influence them but it may get you a meeting. Willow is impressed in Michael’s business sense.

Michael wants to keep Nina Reeves away from Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos. Willow says leave it alone. Nina is rich and will involve them in a long ugly court battle. Michael agrees that isn’t the way to go. The phone rings and Willow leaves. Sheridan called back and Michael says his family is still interested in donating to Mr. Sheridan’s campaign for Pennsylvania Attorney General. But Michael is concerned about a crime in Sheridan’s jurisdiction that hasn’t been prosecuted yet involving a woman named Nina Reeves.

Storylines

On October 21, 2021, the Quartermaine mansion doorbell rings during a Quartermaine meeting and Michael says he will get it. He sees Mr. Sheridan at the door who is surprised that Michael came to the door himself. Michael says he likes to get things done himself. Sheridan likes the way Michael thinks. They greet each other and Michael invites Sheridan inside the mansion.

Sheridan says that as the DA of Llantano County it isn’t often that he makes house calls to Port Charles. But he heard about Michael’s potential and sizable donation to his campaign. He wants to know why Michael has an interest in a Pennsylvania election. Michael says they should talk in the den.

Michael likes Sheridan’s record on law and order as well as his commitment to tackling hard cases to get justice. Sheridan says that if he is elected to Pennsylvania Attorney General he intends to build on that commitment. Unfortunately the incumbent looks strong in the polls. Michael is aware and thinks his donation can give Sheridan that final push. Sheridan is grateful as he has big plans for his state. Michael says he would like to discuss one plan in particular.

Sheridan says he sees a lot of potential here as he shakes Michael’s hand. Michael asks if they can help each other and Sheridan says he looks forward to it. He appreciates Michael’s family’s support of his campaign. Michael says Sheridan has done a terrific job as DA. He has proven to be relentless in his pursuit of justice. The right high profile case could catapult Sheridan into the Attorney General office. Sheridan says it is an unusual case. The kind that generates headlines and defines careers. He will let Michael know when it is in motion.

Willow walks in on Michael and Sheridan shaking hands. Michael introduces Willow to Sheridan who explains the situation and that they share similar values. Willow asks what those are and Michael interrupts by saying that Sheridan is anxious to get back to Llanview. He thanks Sheridan who says goodbye and leaves.

On October 25, Michael thanks Sheridan on the phone for expediting Nina’s arrest. Michael says the Quartermaines are proud to donate to Sheridan’s campaign.

On October 26, Michael tells Sheridan on the phone that Nina waived her extradition and she is on her way to Pennsylvania. Michael arranged for the money to get transferred to Sheridan's campaign fund and wishes the DA good luck. He thinks this will be the high profile case that Sheridan need to bump him up in the polls. Michael sees Carly and Sonny come in and wraps up his call.

In December, Sheridan returned during Nina's pre-hearing in Llantano County. Michael's donation is brought up during the hearing and all charges are dismissed against Nina.
