Dr. Russell Ford, MD was a fictional character on the American daytime soap opera General Hospital.

He played by Richard Gant from February 7, 2007 until the character's death on July 22, 2008.

Dr. Russell Ford first arrives at General Hospital during the Metro Court hostage crisis. During the crisis, he forces Patrick Drake to return from outside the Metro Court to preform surgery.

He also forces Alexis Davis into the hospital when she faints. He threatens to report doctors that do not listen to him.

After Alan Quartermaine dies, many people believe that Monica Quartermaine will take over as Chief of staff. Dr. Ford, however, is given the position. During his tenure as the Chief of staff, his main goal is profit.

He sends patients without insurance to the county hospital. This leads to Joe Smith to attach a bomb to himself and take hostages in an attempt to get treatment for his pregnant wife. The bomb turns out to be a fake, however.

Dr. Ford is hit by a piece of glass when a car crashes into the ER. He removes it, and ends up bleeding to death.
