Shelly Altman

Shelly Altman is an American writer, who served as a Breakdown Writer and Associate Head Writer for the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital.^[1]

Career[]

She wrote for numerous American daytime soap operas, including Another World, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless.

Biography[]

In July 2011, Shelly Altman joined General Hospital after working as an associate head writer for One Life to Live. In October 2011, she was promoted to co-head writer alongside Garin Wolf. When Ron Carlivati was hired as General Hospital's head writer in 2012, Altman remained as a breakdown writer until 2013 when she departed to become co-head writer for The Young and the Restless. Alongside Jean Passanante, Altman remained at The Young and the Restless from November 4, 2013 to March 18, 2015. In July 2015, Altman and Passanante returned to General Hospital as its co-head writers, replacing Carlivati.^[2] After Passanante's retirement in 2017, Chris Van Etten joined Altman as co-head writer. Altman retired from her writing career and left General Hospital in 2019.
