Storyline[]
On December 28, 2021, Liesl Obrecht stops at her daughter, Britt Westbourne's hospital office with a Christmas gift. She reveals that she signed Britt up to a matchmaking service for upwardly mobile professionals called Society Setups. Liesl says that Jason Morgan is gone and there is no use in Britt continuing to pine for him. Since she found love with Scott Baldwin, there is hope for Britt too but her daughter isn't interested.
In April 2022, Britt finally agrees to look at the service and discovers she has six matches. She asks her mother about them. Liesl doesn't care for the man with a cat but is happy her daughter wants her help. After Britt talks to Spencer Cassadine about love, she flips past Rob Thomas' profile, the duckpin bowler she isn't interested in, to look at the profile of the man with a cat, Steve Robinson. She doesn't care what her mom said, as she thinks his cat is cute.
At the Port Charles Grill, Britt waits for Steve who is a no-show. Damian Spinelli runs into Maxie Jones at The Savoy. He is dressed up and Maxie helps his look. Maxie tells Spinelli that Britt is using Society Setups had a match from six different guys that she is meeting that night. Spinelli suggests they go check on Britt. They find Britt chatting with Drew. Britt explains that her date was a no-show and Drew Cain just showed up. She badmouths matchmaking and Spinelli says to give it a chance as the theory is sound.
On May 31, a Society Setups fundraiser and singles mixer took place at the Metro Court Pool and Spa. Britt, Brad, Drew, Spinelli, Dante, Sam, Brook Lynn, Chase, and Austin were in attendance. Terry arrives while Britt gets drunk and makes an announcement that the "one true love" theory is a fictional idea. A plane flies overhead and a man parachutes into Britt, knocking her into the pool.
On June 9, Cody tells Britt that Zelda Telesco hired him, and she is the matchmaker who runs Society Setups. Zelda meets Britt to get her to forgive the company. Later Zelda is shown meeting Spinelli in an alley. He pays her off as she says it is handled and Britt won't be a problem. Spinelli is glad as it's important no one knows what he is up to.
On June 14, Cody argues with Zelda about not being paid the agreed amount for his stunt. When she leaves, he follows her to a Metro Court suite where Spinelli is also staying. Cody blackmails Spinelli for money to keep quiet about knowing that Spinelli is behind the dating service.
On July 5, Zelda calls Britt and convinces her to look over some more Society Setups profiles after Cody made an arrangement with Spinelli to get matched up with Britt on the service. Cody blackmailed Spinelli again to have Britt matched with him. She reluctantly agrees to go on a date with him which is disastrous.
On July 22, at Open Mic Night at The Haunted Star, Spinelli admits to Maxie that he is behind Society Setups. Britt comes in furious about her date and says she wants to sue the service.
On September 29, Spinelli admits to Sam that he is behind Society Setups. He used a program called Cupid's Arrow to get private information from members all over the world. Zelda is just a figurehead and Zelda isn't even her real name.
In November, Spinelli finds out Maxie told Austin that Spinelli was behind Society Setups and gathered information illegally. On November 4, Spinelli is seen on the phone trying to shut down Society Setups but he is told it is too successful. Austin asks Spinelli to find out if Maxie is a match on the service. In return Austin won't say anything about what Spinelli is doing.
