Tamara Braun is an American actress and was the second actress that played Carly Benson on GH. She portrayed the character from 2001 to 2005. She also starred on All My Children as Reese Williams and Days of Our Lives playing two roles, first as Mafia princess Ava Vitali for which Tamara won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress, and as Taylor Walker. Braun later returned to GH as a new character, Dr. Kim Nero on November 22, 2017. Two years later, she confirmed her exit from GH once more, and will last air on November 18, 2019.

Braun was born on April 18, 1971 and raised in Evanston, Illinois. She was a psychology major University of Wisconsin-Madison
Braun was the second person to portray Carly Corinthos after Sarah Joy Brown left the show. She would replaced briefly by Jennifer Bransford and then by the current Carly, Laura Sisk Wright.
In 2008, Braun was cast as Ava Vitail, on the daytime drama, Days of Our Lives. She played the role from February 8, 2008 to August 4, 2008.
Braun would then be cast as Reese Williams on ABC's soap All My Children (which is now licensed to Prospect Park that airing on Hulu.com starting April 29, 2013) from October 30, 2008 to April 29, 2009. Her role was playing opposite of lesbian Bianca Montgomery and Zach Slater.
In 2011, Braun rejoined DAYS, but not as Ava. She would then play Taylor Walker, after her fellow GH co-star, Natalia Livingston, was fired from the show.
Braun has also appeared on various shows for short lengths like one to five episodes. She has appeared in episodic television shows such as Supernatural, Bosch, Necessary Roughness, Castle, Three Rivers, Saving Grace, Freddie, The Pretender, Magnificent Seven, Party of Five, City Guys, CIS, Cold Case, House, Ghost Whisperer, 7th Heaven, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Without a Trace and made her acting debut in the series The Sentinel in 1998.
Braun has also made in a few films like Soul Food, Fallen Arches, Limbo Lounge and won critical acclaim for her role as Mary Louise LeBauve in the film Little Chenier. Tamara also won a couple of acting awards for the role.
On October 25, 2017, Soap Opera Digest confirmed that Braun would be returning to GH as a new character, debuting on November 22.[1][2] On November 17, it was revealed that she will be portraying Kim Nero, Oscar's mom.[3][4] Her new character, Kim, is someone from Drew Cain's mysterious past.
On October 15, 2019, rumors began to surface that Braun has finished filming and may soon be leaving the show, but nothing was confirmed. On November 13, Braun confirmed her GH exit at a fan event and her last day is said to be on November 18.
