The Carnival (2009)
In September 2009, a charity carnival was held in the parking lot of General Hospital, benefiting the Michael Corinthos Head Trauma Unit located on the fourth floor. Unfortunately, a tragedy occurred when Edward Quartermaine suffered a heart attack, resulting in him losing control of his vehicle and colliding with the crowd.
Storyline[]
When Andrea Floyd murders Brianna Hughes, who is her husband's mistress, Alexis Davis becomes a victim of wrongful accusation. Nevertheless, Andrea soon realizes she may face complications when Edward Quartermaine discloses information about her presence at the Metro Court Hotel on the night of Brianna's murder. Concerned that Edward could potentially incriminate her, Andrea approaches him at the carnival kick-off party held at the Metro Court restaurant and initiates a conversation. When he steps away to take a phone call, she secretly poisons his drink with Digitalis, a substance she had previously stolen from General Hospital, ultimately ensuring that Edward consumes the lethal concoction.

Dante Falconeri and Lulu Spencer at the Carnival. (2009)
As the carnival commences, Kristina Corinthos-Davis arrives accompanied by her boyfriend, Keifer Bauer, which displeases her brother, Michael Corinthos. A reconciled Elizabeth Webber and Lucky Spencer bring along Cameron Webber and Jake Webber, while Jason Morgan and Sam McCall enjoy a date, rekindling their connection. Robin Scorpio-Drake attempts to submerge Patrick Drake in a tub of water by striking a target with a ball, but her efforts prove unsuccessful. Lulu Spencer and Matt Hunter, also on a date, join the carnival, much to Dante Falconeri's annoyance. They all express their frustration when the platform fails to douse Patrick, despite the target being hit. Molly Lansing-Davis demonstrates her skill by successfully hitting the target and soaking Patrick. While wandering the midway, Sonny Corinthos and Kristina discover a fortune teller's tent and decide to enter. The elderly woman inside takes Kristina's hands over a crystal ball and cautions her about imminent danger approaching from an unexpected source.
Sonny later encounters Alexis alongside Molly and Morgan Corinthos, who are engaged in a game overseen by Coleman Ratcliffe, where they are pretending to shoot assault rifles. Sonny is aware that Alexis is displeased with the game selection and reminds her that he is not responsible for it. Both Morgan and Molly express their frustration at their inability to hit the target. Sonny questions Coleman about whether he is charging children for a game that is unfairly designed. Coleman defends the game by stating that it is for charity, but Sonny offers him a bribe to adjust the gun. Morgan is elated when he finally hits the target and wins the Yankees helmet he had desired. Jason and Sam approach the game run by Coleman, with Sam expressing her wish for a bear. Jason pays Coleman and begins to shoot. After several unsuccessful attempts with the rigged gun, Jason resorts to using his own gun. To prevent any further issues, Coleman decides to hand Jason the bear.
Ethan Lovett is operating a baseball carnival game when he is approached by Rebecca Shaw and Nikolas Cassadine. Rebecca inquires about the objective of the game, noting that Ethan and Nikolas seem only capable of hitting each other with the baseball. Ethan responds that he is merely trying to instill some sense into them. Demonstrating her skill, Rebecca throws a baseball and knocks down all three jugs with a single throw. Nikolas assists Rebecca in selecting a teddy bear that Spencer Cassadine will appreciate, and she departs to present the bear to the young boy.
Dante Falconeri, who is currently using the name Dominic, seeks to impress Lulu after Matt was called back to GH. As they approach a game managed by Alice Gunderson, Dominic expresses his desire to participate, but Lulu cautions him that the odds are always in favor of the house, a lesson she learned at the tender age of five. Dominic is taken aback by Lulu's early understanding of gambling, yet he proposes a wager: if he successfully rings the bell, she must remain with him at the carnival and enjoy herself; if he fails, she is free to leave. Dominic then approaches Alice and offers her a bribe to ensure he hits the bell. Grateful, Alice steps aside, while Lulu attempts to give Alice money to prevent Dominic from ringing the bell. Alice accepts the money and departs for a break, leaving Mercedes in charge. Ultimately, Dominic proves his skill and wins a stuffed animal for Lulu without needing the bribe. Later, Lulu consults the same fortune teller as Kristina, who warns her of impending danger that day, stating: "Something wicked this way comes."
As Alexis converses with her daughters, Andrea arrives at the carnival and issues a threat to Alexis, warning her that an arrest is imminent and advising her to savor this final outing with her family. Alexis is incensed by Andrea's remarks in front of Kristina and Molly. The girls hastily depart, while Alexis and Andrea engage in a heated dispute. Concurrently, Edward is leaving the Metro Court when he begins to experience severe chest pain, indicative of a heart attack. He loses consciousness, causing his vehicle to veer out of control and crash into the carnival, resulting in multiple injuries.

Dante is hit by Edward Quartermaine's car.
In a tragic twist, Andrea is struck directly by Edward's vehicle, leading to her fatality. Ethan quickly comes to Edward's aid, ensuring he receives medical attention, while Dr. Matt Hunter coordinates the rescue efforts with the doctors and nurses from General Hospital.
Furthermore, Jake manages to escape from Elizabeth just before the car accident occurs, leading to the collision of his great-grandfather Edward's vehicle with the tent where Jake had sought shelter. Jason, Elizabeth, Sam, and Lucky work diligently through the debris and successfully find Jake, who is subsequently taken to the hospital with a suspected concussion. Fortunately, the attending physician provides a positive evaluation, allowing Jake to return home with his family in stable condition.
Dante is hospitalized for internal injuries after being hit by Edwards' car while trying to save Morgan. At that moment, he was unaware that Morgan was his brother.
Max Giambetti was rendered unconscious and incurred minor injuries as a result of the accident. Upon Milo Giambetti's arrival at the hospital, he was approached by a woman who identified herself as Louise Addison. She stated that she had been conversing with Max at the time the car crashed into the carnival. Louise recounted that Max had heroically saved her by pulling her out of the car's trajectory. Milo was taken aback when Louise disclosed that Max was unconscious and that medical professionals feared he might have sustained a spinal cord injury.
Rescue operations persisted into the evening, heightening concerns as Kristina remained unaccounted for. Claudia Zacchara, her stepmother, ventured out in search of her, believing it would please Sonny. Fortunately, Kristina was ultimately located among the last individuals, having lost consciousness while trapped beneath a carnival ride, and she was found to have a sprained wrist.
