Developing "The Colton Connection"

In 1988, Colton Shore was witnessed rescuing Sean Donely with almost super-human strength when a crate fell on him on the docks and became a hero and sensation. WLPC executive and former actress Tiffany Hill reached out to him and gave Colton his own talk show called "The Colton Connection".

TIffany's sister Cheryl Stansbury - a finance expert - came up with the idea to have charitable donations through the show go into "The Colton Connection Foundation" where they can be distributed to local charities in need. Colton balks at the idea, as he sees himself as a straight-forward guy and doesn't like the idea of asking viewers for money. He explains that he is just a country boy who genuinely wants to help people:

"I've had some very difficult experiences in my life, and I've been taught some very hard lessons by them. I've had to deal with despair, and I would like to be able help people deal with despair the way that I've learned to."

The sisters claim to understand, but he disagrees, stating they want to turn him into "some fast-talking, show-business peddler!"

Tiffany convinces Colton to accompany them back to the TV station. There, the sisters regale him with tales of their dysfunctional childhood, as well as how Tiffany was responsible for Cheryl losing a kidney. They insist someone like him and his ability to connect and help people could have been a great comfort to them at the time. He starts to come around, especially after they give him the choice of charities.

He begins taping shows, helping guests on-set and giving guidance through speeches, like "Let Go of Your Past". Unfortunately, it is because of him discussing his past that he begins to have flashbacks to his own, which lead to revelations of his brainwashing by terrorists, the government using him as a spy and assassin, and his suppose killing of Frisco Jones.

After he is tried and exonerated for "killing" the alive Agent Jones, he quits the show.
