The Island is a frequent vacation home of Sonny Corinthos, located in Puerto Rico.

History

In 2010, Michael is sent to a new hotel on The Island called Copa del Oro (“Cup of Gold” in Spanish). Michael is kept there to prevent him from confessing to the murder of Claudia while Sonny is on trial. Sam and Jason stay with Michael since he tries to escape several times. Jason and Sam leave The Island to go to Sonny’s trial and Max, Milo, and Bernie are sent to watch over Michael.

In 2014, from May 1st to the 30th, Sonny hides Ava on The Island until things die down, after Julian attempted to kill her. When Ava is ready to go home Sonny comes to The Island and reveals that he knows she shot Olivia and shot and killed Connie. Just as Sonny is about to kill Ava she reveals that she is pregnant with either his child or his grandchild.

In 2019, from July 31st to August 6th, Michael took Sasha to The Island for a romantic weekend. They met Cassandra Pierce, calling herself "Sandy Lance." She "befriended" them and injected Avian flu into her grapefruit.
