In November 2005, two trains collide in the Glencoe Tunnel and a number of residents struggle to survive in the wreckage.

Storyline

On November 3, 2005, Sonny Corinthos shows up on the antique train to tell Emily Quartermaine that he is headed to Roselawn Sanitarium to speak to Carly Spencer's doctors. Everyone else gets their seat as the train prepares to pull out including Lucky Spencer, Elizabeth Webber, Nikolas Cassadine, Courtney Matthews, Jasper Jacks, Ric Lansing, Alexis Davis, and Reese Marshall.

Carly gets on a commuter train. Sam McCall, Robin Scorpio-Drake, and Manny Ruiz are also on the train. Sam is bringing Robin back to Port Charles to perform life-saving surgery on Jason Morgan. Sam sees Manny and tries to warn Jack, the conductor. Manny kills Jack and his body is discovered by Sam and Robin. They try to slow down the train but crash into another train headed toward them in the Glencoe Tunnel.

Alexis' water breaks and she goes into labor after the crash. Robin ends up having to perform an emergency C-section on Alexis to save the baby (who was lodged in the birth canal) while they are still trapped in the tunnel. Ric and Robin manage to save the baby girl, despite the conditions she was born in. She is named after Titanic survivor Molly Brown.

There are many cave-ins and explosions as Manny placed some bombs in the area. A pipe also bursts and a cavern is flooded.

Reese broke some ribs in the crash, one of which punctured her lung. She didn't realize how badly she was injured and continued to try to help the others, but just before help arrived, Reese succumbed to her injuries.

• This storyline was notable for reintroducing the character of Carly Spencer to the canvas, now portrayed by Laura Wright.
• This storyline was also notable for the birth of Molly Lansing-Davis.
