Vanderbilt University is a university located in Nashville, Tennessee. It is based on the real university located in the same city but a fictional version was shown in 2013.

History

In the summer 2011, after Jax is presumed dead in a plane crash, Carly enrolls Morgan in Sherman-Johnston Military Academy to protect him from Sonny's influence, using her maiden name, "Benson". According to Carly, Morgan is relieved that he no longer has to live with the stigma of being a mobster's son, and he is adjusting well and enjoys it at school.

By 2013, Morgan is attending Vanderbilt University. On May 3, Sonny and Shawn go to Vanderbilt to find Morgan after they hear he is having problems with gambling. When Sonny tells Dean Hawes about gambling at the university, Hawes doesn’t believe them but eventually lets Sonny and Shawn into Morgan’s dorm room.

Morgan’s roommate Travis holds a gun on Sonny and Shawn. Travis explains how he and Morgan got in over their heads while gambling and owe $50,000 in debts. Morgan is currently hiding out from the people he owes and Travis fears for his life and is using a prop gun to defend himself. When Shawn figures out it is a fake, Travis tells Sonny he may know where Morgan is hiding.
