Dr. Warren Kirk, MD[1] was a fictional character on the ABC daytime drama General Hospital.
He was portrayed by Christopher Cousins from the character's introduction on August 6, 2020 to November 19, 2020.
Soap Dirt announced on August 31, 2020, that Cousins will be done on GH soon.[2]
He next returned on September 15 and September 22.[3]
Dr. Kirk was suddenly recast on December 10, 2020 with actor Jamison Jones.[4] Jones previously played one of Faith Rosco’s henchmen named William Peavy in 2004 and 2005. He also played one-day character Brady Bevin in 2016. This was a temporary recast, as Kirk was killed off on December 11, 2020.
On August 6, Dante talked to his doctor (Dr. Warren Kirk) who was hoping he would trust the system. Dante was afraid of hurting his loved ones so he was not willing to undergo treatment for his PTSD, plus he said there's a ticking time bomb in his head and that he has seen what it's like when it goes off. Dr. Kirk told Dante that he can get better if he trusts the system, and he warned him that the WSB might deem him a lost cause and assign him to his care forever. Dante claimed he was fine with that.
On August 28, Dante grabs Dr. Kirk when he wakes Dante up from a nightmare. Kirk says he can update Dante’s meds to help with the nightmares. Dante declines the offer. Kirk says he is getting pressure from his superiors to bring Dante home. Dante asks why and Kirk says the WSB director wants Dante for a priority assignment about someone close to him. Dante wants to know if it is about a friend or family. Dante thinks Kirk is talking about Sonny. He is not going to betray anyone he care about. Kirk says Dante can sit and rot here or work on his PTSD and get back to his life. Dante says he has spent enough time locked up and is ready for treatment. Kirk says Dante has a decision to make. He will get medication for nightmares that won’t put him in a fog and will check in with him tomorrow. Dante asks how long it will take. He has been gone for a year and he isn’t sure who is waiting back home for him.
On September 8, Dr. Kirk meets Olivia and Robert at the Geneva facility. He tells them Dante doesn’t want to see them. After Olivia insists, Kirk tries to convince Dante to visit his mother. He also mentions how Dante is not taking the easy way home by taking the assignment. Kirk lets Olivia know that Dante doesn’t feel it is safe to see her. Olivia begs at the door for Dante to come out before leaving with Robert.
On September 15, Dante is told by Dr. Kirk about Mike and how he doesn't have much longer. Dante said his goodbyes to Mike and wondered what life could have been like if he was still in Port Charles with him. Then Dante asks Dr. Kirk for details on the op.
On September 22, Dr. Kirk tells Dante that the offer for Dante to leave has been rescinded. Dante is angry at first but calms down after blaming Dr. Kirk. The doctor tells Dante that this was a test and Dante passed. Dante is given his assignment and Dr. Kirk goes down the hall and tells his boss (later revealed to be Liesl Obrecht) that Dante isn’t ready for the op.
On September 28, it is revealed that Peter August is the person in Dante’s mission. Dr. Kirk clicks his pen twice and Dante says he must complete the mission and he leaves. Dr. Kirk is revealed to be taking orders from Liesl.
On October 6, Liesl tells Dr. Kirk about her plan to get revenge on Peter and his family like Anna. Dr. Kirk wants out. He didn't know other people were being targeted. He explains how he fell in love with Liesl when he first saw her at Steinmauer. Liesl convinces him to continue working with her. When he leaves she reveals that she is pretending to be in love with him.
On November 19, Dante meets Dr. Kirk at Pier 55. Dante shows Dr. Kirk the information he downloaded off of Peter’s Invader computer. Dante starts asking questions until Dr. Kirk clicks his pen and tells Dante to complete the mission. Dante leaves and Dr. Kirk calls Liesl and tells her she will be free soon.
In December, Scott and Franco Baldwin came to the facility for help from the WSB with Franco's tumor recurrence as well as him hearing Peter's voice in his head. There, they discovered Liesl exonerated and back in the US. Kirk wants to use this chance as part of their plan to take down Peter. He ends up nearly assaulting Liesl, who fights back. They are interrupted by Scott, who lands his own punch at Kirk, who falls on the knife he was wielding, and dies.
On December 22, Dante calls Dr. Kirk’s phone several times. Liesl hangs up on him. She tells Scott that she got rid of Kirk’s body last night. Some detectives knock at the door. Detective Talbot tells Liesl that Dr. Kirk’s body was found this morning in an alley. It appeared that he had been mugged and stabbed. Talbot asked Liesl what she knew about Kirk’s disappearance and then he and the other detectives left.
On March 26, 2021, it was revealed that a faction of the WSB that went rogue had enlisted Dr. Kirk to reprogram Dante, who had already been suffering from severe PTSD and brainwashing at the hands of Raj Patel, so they can use him for their own purposes in order to eliminate Peter. As of right now, nobody knows about Liesl's involvement in Dante's reprogramming.
